🇯🇵The capital of Japan, Tokyo.💰
It is said that it's one of the highest living standard cities in the world.
Room rent, parking lot...price including the land are extremely hight in Tokyo.
In this video, we are with Ken, the director of this channel to find out about his daily expenses throughout his usual day.
We have gathered up all kinds of living cost in Tokyo.
Room rent, parking, food expenses, utility cost, transportation costs, daily goods...etc
Please compare with the ones in your country and let us know how you felt in the comment!
=======================================
🛵Hi, I'm Ken.
This channel introduces you to Japan’s culture and lifestyle
through my own lens as someone who was born and raised here in Japan.
I’d like to cover both positive...
and not-so-positive aspects of Japan that are authentic.
You will surely see the real Japan of today!
By the way, I ride HONDA Super Cub.

Being in the U.S., I was surprised how cheap most things in Japan are compared to here. The only things higher is a gym membership and rent, but that can depend on location. City rent is quite high (I live in the country), but a gym membership is about $10+.

It’s not that cheap for the Japanese, it’s cheap for Americans because the dollar has appreciated so much. Actually a good time to go to Japan, you get 145-150y per $, as opposed to 105-110y 2yrs ago

Gosh, Americans could have a field day in a world class city like Tokyo. USD to Yen = 150 now! Tokyo is so cheap for Americans. Rent is even extremely reasonable. NYC is comparable, and you’re easily paying $3000-4000 per mo for a non-fancy place in middle of Manhattan.

Great video Ken Thank You. Tokyo is not as expensive as I thought. I live in America and the average price currently in New York City for a one bedroom is a little more then $4000.00dollars\581460.00JPY per month and San Francisco California is also expensive for housing and the prices are going to continue to rise. But in smaller U.S. towns depending on which state and city you live in the prices will vary a lot and many much less expensive when you get out of the bigger cities. But in a larger city the pay is much higher so of course they will charge more for most things

bus fees are lower than in the European country I live in. I would say maybe even gas but here it depends on a person. it is just slightly cheaper in Japan (let´s blame the inflation and the fuel crisis), also eating out in Japan is significantly cheaper but otherwise I was so surprised how similar it was? for some reason, I have always thought that Japan is much more expensive perhaps because it is so clean and services are better. thanks for the info!!

Tokyo used to be extremely expensive in the 80s before the Japanese bubble economy blew up around 1990 or so. Tokyo was so expensive before the meltdown that just the small area around the palace was worth more than the entire state of California at one point. Japan’s economy crashed very badly and their real estate markets lost almost 90% of their peak bubble market value in some areas. After their bubble blew up, they had a lost decade and then the Asian financial crisis slowed down Asia. Even after all of that, Japan’s problem for many years has actually been deflation and anemic economic growth. That’s why these days for an outsider Tokyo and Japan overall can be amazingly cheap.

The one thing that would put me off living in Japan would be the working hours, it’s actually pointless being married as you’ll never see your other half. The only plus point is fuel is half the price of that in the UK but most people use public transport where in the UK public transport is useless.
