Here's a few tips for your outdoor enclosure. Recycle as much material as you can. Wood, screen, plants, etc. I dug shallow trenches for the enclosure walls and the water feature dig a hole for it. I actually used plastic tote for my water feature so I can remove it and clean it. The other important thing is that the enclosure is not in complete sunlight. It should have some shade. Hopefully that helps a little!

They are a huge commitment & I would never encourage someone under 18 to get one. Please consider their life spans and the HUGE commitment they are. They will outlive you. 💗🐢

"Steff j" had a box turtle, you could always go over to her channel and see how she designed her turtle enclosure. Also I buy dandylions at the store for my guinea pigs, you could always try that for Blue.

I’m very happy that there are more eastern box turtle owners that take in the ones in danger by no means do I condone people taking turtle from their native habitats but I’m glad there are people that know what to do I keep my female in a box a little bit higher than koas enclosure and she is very friendly I would give koa more digging space they love 6+ inches of dirt and I notice my female burrowing down whenever she can

Lori’s Hartland yea I got 2 crabs and my friend got one but he wasn’t able to buy the things to take care of it so I bought it off of him, then we went on vacation and when we can back 2 of the three were missing so we looked it up and realized they were molting and the one crab was lonely after maybe a month we got another small crab to keep the lonely one company, but then the little one Molted after 5 days .-. But then the other 2 crabs came back from molting after like 1 week

You're supposed to have a special permit to have box turtles my aunt has one but I'm not going to judge she's a teacher so it was handed over and surrendered so either you had to get it from a surrender or you have a permit

my science teacher adopted this a tortoise named Dori and the story is that my science teachers dentists wife works at a really nice Forest Park I don’t know what they’re called and one day she saw all these baby tortoises at the park and she knew that they were not native there it would cause she would harm and would die because other predators would want to eat them so she knew that someone dumped them out there and took them in and my science teacher falls into this because the dentist gave him one tortoise that was still alive to him because he has a lot of pets and he’s a science teacher so now it’s like a class pet and he does take very good care of it of all the things that the tortoise needs and he actually rescued and adopted a lot of animals that he has and it’s super cool because when school is still in we got to play with them and learn how to take care of them. ❤️
