Hey guys! I'm back today with another vlog. As you know you watch my videos I'm a work from home mom (insurance industry) with a toddler. Our days can vary from day to day depending on my workload and my baby's attitude lol. What keeps me on track is making sure that he's fed, well rested and clean by being intentional with my break/lunch times and even with my time before clocking in. When it's time for me to work I do my best to keep him occupied with a safe and interesting activity. I make sure I take care of myself too by making sure I eat and walk around throughout the day. If you're a work from home mom and need some tips I hope this video (and my others) can help you! As always thanks for watching!

Currently working from home with my one year old. I have been doing so since she was 3 months old. Its not easy but there is no way she is going to daycare yet with the ongoing situation. More jobs need to exist that allow for this flexibility for parents. Also we are taking care of our babies just fine if not better that in an over capacity and understaffed daycare facility for 1k a month.

Magda Otero this is how I feel to a T. I had a stint with daycare right before (like literally a month) the shut down and he’s been home with me ever since. I understand for some people it’s tricky but I purposely pick jobs that are work from home so I can still have an income and keep him close. You’re right it’s tough, but we get it done and honestly they grow so fast that this is just a moment in time.

It’s challenging to be honest, but you’ll find what works for you as you get familiar with the role. What works for me is making sure to keep him fed and entertained. Also, prepping the night before is super helpful so you don’t have to run around too much while on the clock. You’ll be fine, and congrats on the new job!

Getting ready to start my wfh job with my two year old. I’m worried because his behavior are on 1000 and he screams all day. I need the money but can’t get back to work unless it’s at home. I don’t want anybody else keeping him either: I was hoping to get a night shift job but then I’ll sacrifice my sleep. With us moms, it’s like “damned if you do, damned if you don’t”

Hang in there, it does get better and what keeps me going is just telling myself my son won’t be this small forever. You’re right with the damned if you do and damned if you don’t whew just gotta take it day by day but you got this!

Hi im glad you still answer comments. Im a Work from home dad working as an spanish interpreter and get ALOT of calls. I have a 1 yr old and ive filled his room with toys plus ive put a gate on the door and on the other side is my desk so he can see me. I play around with the mute alot and yes had the fear that noise was so loud. But then ive spoke to my supervisor and she said that she will try to defend me with our clients no matter what situation. She said its nothing new that we have parents working with us. And that was a relief 🥰

Hi and yes of course I love getting comments from you guys so I’ll always engage! I don’t get a lot of comments from the dads though so welcome! I’m so happy you have an understanding supervisor and you’re making it work with your little baby. It can be tough but it’s for sure doable and these days it’s kind of the norm to be working at home with the kids 😊

I'm leaving my amazing job to stay at home with my baby and work from home. It's a complete career change and I'm terrorfied. I've always been a workaholic and it took me years to get to my position that I love and worked hard for. But now I'll be hanging it up to be a stay at home mom/ working full time from home. Thank you so much for this video!!! ❤ I know it'll be hard for me but not impossible.

I hear you! I really do…I had a similar story when my son was born and it was right before everything shut down, had to make some changes. It’s scary but it’s not forever, just keep that in mind. One day you will be able to go back to what you love (if you choose) or you may just love this new role you never know. It all happens for a reason but you’re doing what you gotta do for your family at the moment and for that I give you the utmost respect! You got this and thank you for watching 💕💕

Thank you so much for sharing! Finally a real working from home with a toddler video. I've watched a few this week and they either have the kids in daycare or have an inhome person babysitting for them. I'm trying to figure out whether to put my 2-1/2 yr old in daycare or continue having him home with me. I got to practice this week and everyday was different. 😅 But we made it. I think if I organize our day it'll go a lot smoother.

Christina M thank you for watching! Same! I made the video because I was finding the same, no real example of someone literally raising their child (or children) with no help during day and working. It’s different for me daily too girl but like you said being organized and trying to prepare as best you can for the things that you can control should help a lot 💕💕

I now have a 5 month old and I'm about to start working again from home! So I really needed REAL insight to how it is with a baby! My daughter (like your son) is a good girl so once I feed her and turn on that CoCoMelon she is absolutely no bother to me. As long as she's straight!! Thank you again, now I know that I really got this! (Different days may have it's individual obstacles, but anything is POSSIBLE!)

You’re so welcome thank you for watching! I’ve heard of those headphones but I’ve never used them for work. That’s a good idea to block out the background noise even if it’s just making it less prominent. What I would do is use my mute button while others are talking which gives me time to calm my baby down long enough for me to speak when it’s my turn, and with my job I’d try to make most of my calls during nap times or quiet times if possible. Good luck to you!

Thank you so much for watching and congrats on your little one! The claims roles can be phone heavy at times but you have more control over when you make your calls. I like to get the bulk of the work done in the beginning of the claim so any other phone calls are typically updates unless something else happens during the claim that needs to be addressed. You’ll be fine, you’ll find something. Good luck to you! 💕

@kelatrishaan6435

The best thing you can do honestly is apologize to front for any background noise if it becomes an issue and ask for the persons patience. Most people are pretty cool about it these days because a lot of us are working from home so it’s not uncommon to hear children, dogs barking, etc. Also I use the mute button if the other person is talking so they can speak freely and unmute myself to respond. Hope this helps!

Do you have any noise cancellation software or app that helps with your work portal?

I honestly used to go through the exact same thing with my son. In my position I am able to schedule my calls to an extent so if he was having a tantrum I’d calm him down with a hug, snack or activity before I made my calls. If he happened to go crazy while I was on a call, I would simply press mute while the other person was talking and only unmute when it was my turn. The reality is though that right now there are sooo many people working from home due to Covid, that a lot of people are really understanding. If you’re in a bind and have to take a call while your baby is having a fit, I’d just let the caller know that you’re working from home so they may hear the baby. You’ll be fine though, good luck in your new job!

How can I find a good work from home job I have a 6 month old and with covid I dont feel safe with daycare a work from home job would help alot
@kelatrishaan6435
@kelatrishaan6435 2 жыл бұрын
I completely understand especially with a baby that young. My suggestion is to first figure out what type of work you want to do and the hours you want. For example, you may want to do a customer service job and work full time in the evenings, or like myself do an insurance role and have daytime hours. Once you figure that out create an indeed profile and add your resume, put remote/work from home jobs as your preference, also select that you are actively looking so recruiters can find you and they will reach out to you directly if your resume fits what they are looking for. You can also go on the sites of actual companies and go to their career section and make sure you’re searching for “remote” or “work from home” roles. Right now a lot of companies are offering remote work because of Covid, so you’ll likely find something that works for you soon. Just be consistent on your search and check your email frequently because that’s how recruiters will likely contact you.

Omg 6 weeks?! 🥺I’m sorry you don’t have more time to just be but I know everyone’s situation is different. For me I went back when my son was 4 months. I don’t have specific information for a baby that young but what worked for me was having family/caretaker there during the day when I was working since babies that young need care around the clock. If you don’t have access to having anyone in the home with you, you’ll really just have to be diligent about your breaks and lunches to tend to your baby, and plan to do most of your work around his nap times. Wishing you the best of luck and anyone feel free in the comments to jump in if you have experience in this area 💕💕

Hey! It all depends on what you want to do and what your skills are but a lot of companies are offering remote work. If you’re interested in insurance, set up an indeed profile and specifically choose work from home positions. Set up your profile to say that you’re actively looking so recruiters reach out to you directly. Places like Amazon and even Walmart from what I hear have remote customer service positions. You can apply directly on their websites if they have any available right now.

I even called them out on it and said it was messed up because clearly I'm a Mother of 2 who's trying her damndest and they knew my backstory and how I was looking for childcare so it made it even more dirty of them. It can be heavy on the phone some days just because of the workload but I’d say when everything goes well it’s about 50/50 phones and computer work. With regards to our two year olds it’s definitely challenging tending to the baby and working, but with the phone work being flexible it’s doable for sure! Your son is so quiet! Does he ever act up and make noise while you are speaking to a client on the phone? If so, how do you deal with that in order to maintain a professional atmosphere while on a call?

lol he wasn’t to loud while I was making the video but he definitely has his moments. During this time he wasn’t in daycare so I’d make my calls during his naps, and when he was occupied. I’ve had moments where he was loud on a call so I’d have to walk around or simply press mute while the other person is talking. I’ve been through it all!

Sure! So this industry is pretty easy to get into nowadays working remote especially after the pandemic. Some jobs may ask you to be in person for training but typically if it’s a remote role you’ll be able to get your equipment sent to you to do the job. Look for entry level remote adjuster roles in your area to see what companies are hiring. You’ll need to put in some work with applications because a lot of folks want to work remote but it’s for sure something you can attain. Good luck to you and your babies!

Thank you so much for watching I’m glad you enjoyed and congrats on your new role. The position I was doing in this video was a total loss adjuster in the auto department. I was able to work remote during the pandemic. The flexibility all depends on the company and the job you have, and what you consider flexible. In general there is some flexibility with these roles because you control your desk but I’d need a little more clarification on what you mean to give you a better answer. Let me know!

I’m really late but I’m looking at the screen like…. 👁👄👁 ….what magic is this?? Lol How did you keep your toddler from just crawling all over you while at work?! My son sees my computer and it’s like it’s a military grade magnet for his lil fingers and he can’t help himself. He’s almost 2.

Lol listen you are not alone this boy is crazy ok! My son is now close to 3 and he’s got more energy, he’s bigger and can say what he wants so the struggle now is getting him to chill while I make calls. I take it day by day and just try to make sure he’s as entertained as possible, and keep him on a routine because nap time is when I get the most done. You got this too if you’re working from home you naturally find your rhythm and it changes as they get older 💕💕

I just answered your last question on the other video and to be honest not sure if you’re genuinely asking or being judgmental so I’m going to assume the first one. When I work from home with my toddler he’s right by me I don’t let him out of my sight because that could be dangerous. Locked in a room? Umm no.
