I have a really close friend who is visually impaired. She also has one lung which is so scary. Once I had a sleepover with her and it's so shocking what happens to her every day. When you next see a disabled person, just take a minute to think about all the struggles they have to go through everyday.

@Jazzyjen19974 жыл бұрын
karnav ks It’s really dehumanizing and actually demeaning to say differently abled. Disabled is not a bad word. Please use the word disabled in conversation. This is coming from a woman who is disabled herself.
@Dr.Versifier_thependoc4 жыл бұрын
@@Jazzyjen1997 no buddy it's not at all... (First of all let me Correct you... It must be 'inhuman' instead of dehumanising that's probably preferable in grammar... ) They are differently talented okay they're disabled until they think they are ok... I have also been on wheelchair for 4-5 months due to an accident n it was so hurting to hear disabled... But it gave me a nice feeling to listen differently abled ... Though I'm normal now but something is still in my heart you know injuries of soul r not healed by medicines... Nd I feel a lot for everyone who has something like what you call disability...

karnav ks Please STOP saying differently abled. It’s a term that takes our disability out of the equation. You might not know it, but you’re actually being really hurtful. I’ve always used the term disabled when talking about a friend or myself. Please refer to people as disabled. It’s not a bad word and it’s perfectly okay to use it.

I've worked with several people in their homes that used wheelchairs and had some form of a disability. Every individual is unique in their strengths, weaknesses, and needs. As an able bodied person, my greatest advice to everyone is to treat everyone like a human, and not to assume a person's individual needs like a blanket. And keep smiling!
