I love how you share real life with a baby. As a first time mom of twins who are now 15 months, I turned to KZbin DITL videos to get confirmation that I’m doing things right. I know, silly, but I had my own postpartum issues going on and I needed it. It only made me feel worse because I don’t know if these people only show the easy side of motherhood or they just have perfectly well-behaved babies who sleep well, don’t throw fits, don’t cry. I couldn’t relate. You show all of sage - happy, tired, sad, upset, laughing, etc and it gives me so much relief to see. Thank you ❤️

I really needed to hear that...thank you so much for those words of wisdom, everything you said is so true! I struggle with my mental health and I'm just so comfortable with being in my bubble and in my box that I'm not letting myself see what the world really has out there. Yes it is tough to eat when you make something different for yourself. My girl always eats fast if I make myself a homemade lunch. Yes do what works best for your family. We had our first snowstorm in Oregon for the Winter, and it was hard to get stuff done. I understand it is tough becoming a mom during the pandemic. My girl was 5 months when the pandemic started in the world. I hope you and your family have a great year!

I will say motherhood can be lonely with or without a pandemic. It’s a blessing for sure and I would never change a thing, but motherhood can feel lonely at times. You say goodbye to the life you had. Things are just so different. Some friends slowly disappear, not because they’re not happy for you, but because they think you want to spend time with family all day. But as mamas, we need interaction beyond our family too

I’m so happy for you! Your have such a positive and bright personality. Hearing your struggles makes me feel so much better, I have my second child right before lockdown and it was so hard and stressful. I didn’t suffer post partum depression but I suffer from depression and anxiety on a regular basis and it was the hardest year for me. All my family is so far from me and I can’t even be positive most days. We finally did the same as you went on a family vacation and then travelled for a couple of weeks and it was a relief. Felt like a weight was lifted. So I think it’s so great you guys are able to manage your like remotely and do this because you deserve it. Sage deserves it and wants you guys happy. So have a great trip!

Thanks for sharing per usual Nikole! I have commented before on your previous videos and can still relate in the topic of having a baby during these challenging times. It sounds so selfish, but I semi feel like we got “jipped” or didn’t get to experience like the normalcy of taking baby classes or doing hospital tours before giving birth, etc. I hope you find peace in Florida, I’m glad you and the family got to go! I don't know what religion you were born in to but I found it very helpful to be able to pray 🙏 especially when I don't know how to cope with the things in life that catch us off guard. I definitely understand feeling lonely, but the stricter policies have kept Canadians way safer than the US. The US had OVER 1 million cases reported just YESTERDAY. 1 million in 1 day. Florida alone probably has more cases that the whole country of Canada. Just be safe.

Thank you!! It worked because the government made it work up there! In the states, people don't understand what social contract is and throw a fit whenever they are asked to think of someone other than themselves. Though not everyone, at least 60% of the country was fully vaccinated, wasn't enough though :/

Floridian here. True that Omicron is all over Florida. I’ve heard many joke, they want to get sick so they can put it behind them. That’s because for most, it’s a week to 10 days of flu and cold symptoms. It’s not a death sentence. On the positive note we will reach herd immunity sooner. By contrast, when Canadians are finally let outside, whatever COVID variant is out there will burn through the population, both vaxxed and unvaxxed. Hopefully it will be a mild variant. One last note. My next door neighbor has rarely left her home since this began. I’ve been to restaurants, to the mall, hair salon, casino, beach, Disney World, etc wearing my N95 when necessary. Neither of us has caught COVID yet.
@Sharleen91
@Sharleen91 2 жыл бұрын
@@yellowbird500 You don't understand how herd immunity works as Canada is closer to herd immunity than FL is. In order for herd immunity to work a virus needs to infect less than 1 person. With the Alpha variant in order for herd immunity to be possible 70% of the population needed to be vaccinated. When Delta came around in order for herd immunity to be possible 90% of the population would need to be vaccinated. Now with Omicron variant the infection rate seems to be much higher than Delta, which means a greater number of vaccinations would be needed for heard immunity. You also need to keep in mind that if vaccinated over a year ago an RNA vaccine needs a booster, so those vaccinated then may not count. We see this with individuals who have now been infected with Covid 2x b/c of these mutations, which will only continue due to reckless behavior such as what you are describing. Currently Canada is at 77.6% fully vaccinated, where as Florida is at 63.8%. This means they are closer to herd immunity than Florida is, and can continue to be if only fully vaccinated ppl can travel there. The only reason we reached herd immunity for polio, and pretty much wiped it out completely in the US is b/c of mandated vaccinations. Not everyone is fortunate enough to be able to afford N95 masks, i hope your luck last.

So happy to see you are feeling better! Just wanted to say (I'm sure that you know), that you are in a really privileged position being able to just go to Florida over the winter! Not meant in a bad way, but just wanted to say that

How do you make your green smoothie so smooth? Mine separates while I drink it? And what do you do with your leftover part?

You can freeze it in an ice cube tray and then add it to smoothies in the future.

Good for you guys! I bet that was not an easy decision. I am the same way about leaving my comfort zone as well. And I think it was a good decision, you definitely are not missing much in Ontario. Back in lockdowns and alllll of the snow. Wishing I was in sunny Florida. Enjoy this special time with your family! You guys really are an inspiration of mine!

I had to laugh at your Krispy Kreme comment. I remember so many people being obsessed with them in high school. I tried one eventually and didn't understand. I'll take a simple sprinkle donut from Tim Horton's over Krispy Kreme. Also thank you for talking about mental health. I feel like for 2020 and 2021 I was running on burn out with school and being short staffed at work. I loved the change to working from home, but it just meant I was easily able to work more hours and not get overtime. My company is really old school so even though we are hybrid right now, we aren't allowed to move and work remote. Hoping for some life changes in 2022 for myself. Send some Florida sunshine to New York state please. Love your videos.

Any excuse to add cheese to a dish is a win! 🤤 I legit added shredded cheese to a gnocchi dish in place of the mascarpone we didn’t have. 🤣

Ugh I feel you with the craziness of Canada weighing on my mental health. Be grateful for your beach town cuz I am extremely jealous and wish I could get away too. Living vicariously through u from Ontario Canada

This is so true… I lived with my in laws all my pregnancy and 8 months of my baby’s life. Everybody was suggesting to stay with my in laws for the economic crisis the world is going. But, mental health doesn’t have a memory tag and we just wanted our own space. I’m so glad we made that decision. Even our relationship was getting destroyed for the insolation
