Thank you so much. Trying to figure that out drove me crazy, so i appreciate the clarification. I agree it can be quite derogatory depending on who said it and how. I think being a friend to anyone is a pretty great thing. So i hope she wasn't too offended by that. I did love Chandler's reaction to the comment though and would have loved to be a fly on that wall, that is, when they finally were able to sit down and discuss it. Thanks Again!! :)

@101jessymessy Yeah, he left in 2007 first then came back in 2008 to leave with John Paul. Yup, I know he's on the other uk soap now, but not the same :/ I'm from California =] Merlin is awesome! I started watching it when series 2 came out and I bought both DVD collection, UK versions. Then I bought series 3 as well and I cannot wait to get the rest.

She said "fag hag," which refers to a woman who is best friends with a gay man. I think normally it's used in a cute, friendly way, but of course it's rather derogatory when you think about what it suggests about the woman, as if her only role in life is to be a friend to a gay guy. And of course being called a hag doesn't help :)
