I've been waiting 17 years for this song to be a part of some sort of an English dub. The first time I ever saw Gohan's SSJ2 transformation was when I downloaded a clip of it through Morpheus. I was so disappointed when the dub finally caught up and it was just the same generic Faulconer music I had heard so many times before. It really took away from the moment.

I legitimately cried when the abridged played this, it felt so earned despite the humorous spin on the original. You could tell they love the shit out of Dragon Ball and all the tongue and cheek was a blessing in disguise. Seriously, I remember watching the original growing up on toonami and had no clue this was missing in the localization. Yet, unexpectedly TFS made me feel like this was how I remember it. Thank you, boys. Please support the official release, indeed.

TFS proved that they could take the story and make it into their own. It's more of an interpretation of DBZ now rather than a re-telling. For what was built up for Gohan this was extremely earned.

I just rewatched all of DBZA and it brought up a lot of emotions and memories. TFS got me through breakups, a horrific injury, losing my career and some of the worst depression I’ve ever had. I won’t lie, I haven’t kept up with their stuff since DBZA ended, but I’ll always be thankful for them helping me through the dark times.

Our Dungeon Master picked this piece as our campaign ending theme for a 3 year long DnD campaign. He played it when we fought our last battle with our arch nemesis, a cthulhu like being called "The Eye of Many." It was the most epic campaign ending ever. Our battle with the arch-nemesis destroyed the world we swore to protect so our characters had to become the new gods in place of the old ones to try and rebuild the world that got eradicated and save our loved ones in the process. Seriously it was the most epic campaign I ever had a pleasure to be a part of. :D

Everything about the lyrics of the song fit great I can't get over lines like "I can't surrender at the turning point of destiny right now its do or die my life is on the line and I will not flee" later it says "Thoughts of a broken world in every corner of my mind a loveless world devoid of life is what you hope to leave behind" these lyrics have the greatest symbolism in the entire song conveying the idea that destiny is changing, remember this is a world that was supposed to be conquered by the androids in trunks future yet now they stand at the literal the turning point of destiny and Gohan knows that he can't flee from this fight because right now its due or die and he is all that stands between cell and the broken world of the future devoid of life and love. Lord Tetsukage personally, I think it’s bittersweet because whenever I hear this, I now think about both ep. 60, the amazing culmination and season/series finale of DBZA, but also about the fact that most likely, unless Team FourStar somehow gets over their burnout and finds a way to forever protect DBZA from copyright, that we’ll never see a DBZA version of the buu saga. Personally, that’s my opinion, and I will continue to love and listen to this song forever, but I recognize that you are also entitled to your own opinion. So if this song is just bitter for you, let me tell you I understand what you’re feeling. Sorry if I’m babbling, but it just feels good to let out how I feel about this song and the fact that DBZA is over.

Honestly, the Buu saga shafted Gohan's character SO HARD that I am happy with this being his end. Ending on a high note is better than ending on a weak one, even if the weaker ending lasts longer. Over the years, DBZA has become more than just a parody, it became a humorous dub. And from a purely storytelling perspective, Cell saga is the perfect (no pun intended) culmination. So I'm fine with them just stopping here. It was a great ride, but they most likely gave us all they had.

So I did a some research trying to find what that "meaningless" section could be and it looks like it might be Hebrew (if anyone knows Hebrew and wants to confirm please do). Here's what it means: YUDU = They will confess LIYA = I am with God VELE = Or Else IYA = Bird of Prey So that section basically says: They will confess I am with God - Or else They will confess I am with God - Or else They will confess I am with God - Or else They will confess I am with God - Like a bird of prey I am with God This makes the song even better IMO. EDIT: Based on a comment below it seams that: YUDU = Yodu = They will confess LIYA = Li Yah = God is mine/to me and using that input it seams that IYA = I Yah = Falcon/Hawk Don't think this changes the intent of the translation too much but I found interesting. EDIT2: Another comment pointed out that a better interpretation might be: They will confess God is with me Like an Eagle I soar with God EDIT3: Some people keep saying that it's Latin. The first two lines are Latin Venit aevus ille = The time is now fulfilled and its a reference to The Book of Mark 1:15 O Messiah = Oh Savior Which is a reference to Jesus Christ The other 4 lines don't translate from Latin. Someone pointed out that it might actually be Aramaic (which is similar to Hebrew in some ways) since it doesn't translate cleanly into Hebrew or maybe ancient Hebrew. If that's the case the translation might me somewhat off but should be enough to get a sense is what the lyrics might be trying to say.

I think i have finally figured it out! *Yuduliya - Vele* many people think that this line means that Gohan is comparing himself to god, but when thinking about the context of the song, Gohan is actually represented as the: Messiah - the savior sent by god. which has led me to believe that the Yudoliya - vele doesn't mean "יודו כי אני ה' - ואילו" "yudu ki ani adonai(ya) - vaeilo" literally meaning - "they will confess that i am god (godlike) - or else" but actually means: "יודו לי ה' - ואלה" (which also sounds exactly the same in Hebrew as it's heard in the song) "yudu li adonai(ya) - vele" literally meaning - "they will thank me: God and them" This gives the line a new meaning - both god and *them* would express their gratitude before me - because i am the messiah and it is my duty to do right and rid of evil. The *them* in the line may refer to the z - fighters, or perhaps all other living beings - they are protected by the messiah, and that is why they will thank him. The second line "Yuduliya Iyaliya" Many also think that the "Iya" in the sentence represents עיט - a bird of prey however, that is pronounced "ayit" with a "t" at the end. Iya is actually a question word which means: איה - where? a direct translation of the line "Iyaliya" from this point would be: איה לי ה'? - where (should i be), my lord? I believe that in the line "Iyaliya" Gohan is questioning god: "where is the place that i belong to?" Think about it! Gohan was a crybaby up untill that point, and he never liked the idea of fighting! The instant Gohan saw 16's head getting squashed under cell's leg, he was forced to not only go through a dramatic change in power, but also in his ideology: "Violence is not the way, but doing nothing is not the way either!" "which way should i choose to be in?" i believe that is what Gohan was questioning himself, and that that is why it appears in the song. So, I looked up the meaning of the words at the beginning of the song. I thought I'd post them here, because I thought it was kinda neat, and I wanted to share. Venit Aivus Ille: It's Latin. The grammar is pretty botched, but as far as I can tell, it's supposed to mean, "His time has come." O Messiah: Technically Latin too, but it translates directly to English, so there's no issues there. Yuduliya-Vele: This is Hebrew. There's three words, actually. Yudu, Liya, and Vele. It means something like, "They will admit that I am godlike - Or else." Yuduliya Iyaliya: Hebrew again. The same three words as before, but with fourth one: Iya. Iya refers to birds of prey. So this part means, "They will admit that I am godlike. I am a bird of prey."

I guess the Yuduliya part is what they intended to go for as it makes sense within the context of the song, but as an Israeli (Hebrew native speaker) I have to tell you that "botched" doesn't even begin to describe their use of the language. When the words don't even make sense to a native speaker then calling it "Hebrew" is a bit of a stretch. For comparison "They will admit that I am godlike - Or else" would translate to "hem yudu she ani kmo elohim, velo...". P.S I'm not trying to devalue your comment btw, just to shed some linguistic light on the matter. Great job looking everything up and sharing it!

Well, the original lyrics started with "Toki wa michite" which has a very similar meaning "The time has come". I suppose that TFS changed it with latin to add depth during the opening but to be honest both sound great. In general terms the translation (in it's essence) is quite faithful to the original.

Meh, the lyrics are kinda disgustingly vague. It could apply to any character who comes to a turning point and makes a big decision to face their inner demons or weakness. Which is like... a lot, a LOT of characters. This doesn't even mention the weakness being cowardice or self-delusion or anything Gohan specific. Just inner demons.

Cell Saga will always be the peak of DBZ for me. Seing Gohan(a kid just like me) becoming such a Badass was super relatable and satisfying. The history coming full circle, the boy who was always hinted to be the strongest finally saving the world. Proving that being half human didn't make you weaker but more powerful than any full Saiyan can be. Good ol times.
