Here in Florida it is impossible to grow most commercial greens in the summer, but there are quite a few subtropical greens to stand in, like Asian greens, sweet potato greens, spinach-like tropical vines, etc. But the most reliable are shrub and tree greens like, moringa, katuk, and chaya...the spinach tree. I try to eat plenty of raw food, but chaya, though very nutritious, is definitely not a raw candidate! It contains cyanide that is fully neutralized only by cooking. We joke that when the zombie apocalypse comes we'll invite the food marauders over for a huge bowl of chaya salad! 😁

Yifat is amazing can't believe she is 40! The physicality of those who eat a clean, whole food diet, raw or cooked, is the best advertisement for this movement

I just wanted to say, you saying Salsa is raw... Um yes if home made but jarred store bought is not. Jarred salsas are cooked and/or pasteurized to ensure a longer shelf life. I didn't watch the whole video I just watched the short version Doug Graham uploaded.

Do dates cause you weight gain? I find when I have one I crave more and more of them so I tend not to buy them.

@@CHEFAJ thank you for you reply. I'm currently researching nattokinase for its circulatory aid properties as well as bring a biofilm dissolver. It's made from fermented soybeans. Quite interesting. I'm on my second day of taking it. Hoping it helps me.

They absolutely do NOT cause weight gain. Many days I eat 1.5-2 pounds of dates and I am only 5'8" and 120 pounds, and I don't work out now. Just keep your fat calories below 20%

It's a myth that higher calorie density causes you to eat more, at least if it's high carb no added fat and not junk food. If I ate only dates and lettuce and nothing else the whole day, I could not possibly eat more than 2000 calories, but if I ate nothing but boiled grains, beans, and lettice, I could easily eat more than 2000 calories, up to 3000 calories. Even though dates are 1200 calories per pound, I could not eat more than 2000 calories of them, but I could eat more than 2000 calories of boiled grains even though they are only 600 cslories per pound. Dates being 1200 calories per pound does NOT cause me to eat twice the number of calories of boiled grains which are only 600 calories per pound. The exact opposite is true. The same is true for bread which is also 1200 calories per pound. If I were to eat only bread the whole day, I would eat about 2500-3000 calories. But if I ate nothing but boiled grains and beans the whole day, which are only 600 calories per pound, I would also still only eat 2500-3000 calories. Bread being twice the calorie density as boiled grains and beans does NOT cause me to eat 5000-6000 calories instead of 2500-3000 calories. What could maybe cause you to eat more is eating more than 20% fat everyday or eating meals that are high in both fat and carbs, like pasta loaded with oil, fried potatoes, or adding to much oils or nut butters to grains, fruit or potatoes. Don't mix carbs with overt fats and oils and don't eat more than 15-20% of your calories from fat each day.

@@dj-fe4ck thank you for your time and detailed response. It could be that the sugar content is too high for me. Perhaps you are also young and that is why you can eat a lot of dates. I can experiment with them again in the future to see how they react with me. I do love them but I'm just not sure of their reaction to my body.

It would not be wise to critique God’s Torah. Instead, spend some time watching Rabbi Mizrachi’s video on YT, entitled Torah and Science, and then you’ll be convinced a million % that it needs to be respected. Praise Hashem.

Jewish religion condoned sending goats as scapegoats to die alone in the desert. Not exactly compassionate behavior. These videos are great though and thank you for telling us more about raw food.
