Indubitably ! I saw it in 1975 at a local multiplex when it first came out. I don't think it was a big hit at the box office. But it's well made with a wonderful script & some xlnt performances. The original short novel by Nathaniel West is a great read. An almost surrealistic look at people who live on the fringes of Hollywood success. I used to have New Directions paperback that had "Locust" and West's other best known work, the short novel "Miss Lonelyhearts" (another powerful read). Should have kept that book...when I last moved I couldn't find it. Dang ! :-(

Karen Black was too old, in both appearance and charachter, for her intended role. A rather poor casting choice that hinders the film.

Karen Black was dangerously gorgeous in this, per usual.

There’s only one annoying child in the film.

Overall, yeah. But the mob riot is rendered terrifically on film. One of the most horrifying/mortifying things I’ve seen in a movie. I think the hallucinations were probably overkill though.
