What a lovely walk and dip. Overhere it’s been so grey and rainy (or snowy) that I’ve almost forgotten waht sunshine and blue skies look like.

We've had some rubbish weather too, this was a break in that and it was so appreciated! Hope the weather perks up for you and the snow is fluffy not slushy!

9:21 - WOW!! I bet that view made the the walk worthwhile!! Geez, I just loved everything about this video, Rachel. The droplets of water on the colourful leaves, the rock walls, the interesting rock formations, and of course, the amazing waterfall. What a great day you had!! There’s no flowing water or greenery over here in northern 🇨🇦 right now, won’t be for several months… so I really enjoyed the sounds in this video just as much as the sights. Thanks for bringing us along. I’m swimming and dipping vicariously through you now for the next few months. Looking forward to more of it!! C’Ya next time!! Ⓜary❄💦❄

Incredible spot !!... You know what is the most wonderful thing with your channel ? It makes us reconsider swimming, and become aware that northern countries do have their advantages. Before that, I thought you could only enjoy bathing and swimming in the southern countries, or just a few months in the summertime. Now, a whole universe of amazing possibilities (with huge health benefits) has opened to me, and I am so grateful to you about it ! Now I don't need to crowd with wild kids in the local chlorine/urine swimming pools anymore ! 😄

The only thing stopping us is the motivation to keep on getting in. Picturing a whole winter of swimming is daunting, but just not stopping is an easier approach. I have swim kit in my car all the time, just in case I spot somewhere interesting to get wet! Thanks for watching Bernadine!

Waterfalls are beautiful and so full of energy. It’s such a thrill being near one. Sometimes they flow so hard you can’t get that close (like when I went to the falls of Falloch last year). But still worth the trip. Thanks for watching 💦😀

Aysgill Force is the hidden one, beautiful walk from Gayle, almost need ropes to get down to it though. Very unique waterfall. Cotterforce outside Hawes is really easy access. Beautiful cascades and dipping above Hardraw. Redmire Force (I think) downstream of the not very swimmable Aysgarth Falls is also a quiet spot the locals head to. There are many others to find as well :-)

That looked so beautiful, there are so many stunning places in the U.K. and it’s good to be reminded of that! You stayed in a lot longer than I would have, it looked jolly cold 🥶 Being outdoors is the best tonic and now is my favourite time of year for swimming when it starts to get colder and colder, it feels so good! Have you thought of doing a book with all the places you have been swimming?

I do love your adventures Rach, you are epic! Looks a lovely place, I dont think I'd be brave enough to go under the waterfall. I always think moving water must feel a lot colder than a lake for example, would you agree? And have you got any waterproof socks? I put mine on for a run yesterday and my feet kept dry x
@EverydayAthleteRach
@EverydayAthleteRach 9 ай бұрын
Hi Debbie, I have waterproof swim socks but not seal skins or anything. Are yours thin enough to fit inside running shoes normally? Could you let me know which you have. The water definely felt colder with the addition of gravity!

Hey Richard, just go somewhere with easy access in and out. Wade in with purpose, submerge your body (not head) for a few seconds or until your breathing regulates then get out and congratulate yourself. The sea is likely to be warmer than inland at this time in the year. It is always colder after rain. Let me know how you get on 💦😀
