Bushman and Blue are inspiring; they bring the outdoor to our homes they give out a vibe to one’s inner soul that simply energize lazy bones. It would be great to see them in Dovedale roaming the peaks of the Dove so millions that visit each year could see the awesome scenery above. Totally engaging content Al, when Blue arrived back in his muddy state was a complete joy to watch, his face just said "I`m sorry Al but I enjoyed myself and that is all that matters"🤣 You always seem to have the knack to achieve a good balance of activity and relaxation for the viewers and for me you have even made the "walking back to collect your camera bit" a completely normal and acceptable part of the edit, I was actually going to suggest that you could use your drone to video yourself and Blue walking off into the distance then simply fly it on to wherever you have stopped to save on the extra walking but I really don`t think you need to change anything. What a team, you are truly blessed and are definitely one of natures gracious allies. Bit by bit I am making plans to get back to nature, though when it warms up a bit😉 Thanks again for an inspiring adventure👍👍👍

Great vlog. Probably worth emphasising that plenty of care needed at Gordale Scar. Having climbed up and down the Scar I would say it’s far easier climbing up so anyone wanting to replicate this journey might find it easier doing the whole journey in reverse (Gordale Scar, Malham Tarn followed by Malham Cove). Malham village is also lovely with a couple of great pubs.
@BUSHMANandBLUE3 жыл бұрын
Yes I agree up is easier although my daughter at 4 climbed up and then back down un aided. I just was behind her making sure she was safe. With the dog it’s 50 times harder though! And crossing the wet areas are the worst bit being quite slippy! Thanks.
@jonm49893 жыл бұрын
@@BUSHMANandBLUE climbing up and down unaided at 4 is very impressive. It’s not really the difficulty that makes it dangerous, but more as you say the slippyness. Maybe I’m getting a little too wary as I get older, but I can see the capacity for broken ankles at Gordale as It looks more innocuous than it actually is. Anyhow many thanks for your films and obvious enthusiasm; it’s great to see.
@BUSHMANandBLUE3 жыл бұрын
Yes the limestone pavement at malham is the worst for an ankle but I guess people should know their limitations. Having the lungs to get up those steps is the first filter😂. Thank you for your kind words. I’m heading to the lakes in an hour so very excited!!!

@AngeMorley7 ай бұрын
Been to Malham loads of times. I walked up from Grassington through Threshfield then upto Kilnsey Moor trig then across the moors to Gordale Scar last weekend. Also if you haven’t been, try walking to Malham from Settle up high via the Dales Highway past Warrendale Knotts, Victoria Cave and Attermire Scar then follow the Pennine Bridleway past Rye Loaf Hill ( has a tidy little summit with 360 views of the Y3P and dales ) and up across the Grizedales then you can veer towards Malham Tarn or straight over the limestone gorges to the cove. Attermire Scar and Warrendale Knotts is my special place. After that has to be Clapham and Ingleborough then Malham is a close third. If you havent been to Attermire you need to go. There’s a trig atop Warrendale knotts you can see all of Giggleswick Scar, the peaks, Settle, Forest of Bowland, Pendle Hill and across to Malhamdale its beautiful. Great video. Only found you a few days ago but loving your journey. Always great and comforting to watch fellow Yorkshire people out adventuring. Most hikers are too preoccupied with Snowdonia and Scotland but for me the dales will always have my heart and I will walk them until my legs dont work anymore. Thank you for sharing and blessing us with your memories 😃🙏🥾👌🤟

Hello again Alan. What an amazing video.The best I’ve watched yet! What a character Blue is.Still can’t stop laughing over the state he got himself into.Takes me back to a time when my Whippet came back to me looking like he’d been dipped in an oil bath after chasing a squirrel in my local park.😂 You. Really are a very nice person.Caring about others safety when You went back to help that couple bring their dog down the rocks.Keep on enjoying your freedom of the great outdoors in this crazy time and behound!

Thanks Jackie 😊. That was a golden moment for my channel when he came back covered in mud😂. Dogs are brilliant characters which always make us happy and yes I’ll always help people when I can👍👍👍

Thee's just up road lad. About 20 mile away to me, i have been a few times now and like you proper love it. That's a bonny dog. Shouldn't he be ont lead wi' sheep about? Janet's Foss! A little oasis, what a gem. Thee does reet lad. That's a canny stove set up. I make my own hotpot, cook it and put it in a food flask. Dude? That's a lass! you tell by the many udders at the back not the single one a bit further forward.

Lovely place! He’s totally under control and trained on the sheep anyway and not a bad sheep dog. I’ve pretty much never had him on a lead but I never go to towns!😂

What an absolute cracking video 👍. I will be getting the maps out to see if I can trace your route. It simply has to be done. Thank you so much for your time and effort into sharing. 👍👍

Thanks Stu! It was an awesome night out. That route is simple enough to follow but stunning all the way. Obviously just the climb down Goredale Scar but there are loads of good hand holds. It’s about as good as you get for a medium length walk in the uk. Enjoy!

Hi Alan, found your videos over the Christmas period which are an absolute inspiration. I’ve suffered with my mental health off and on over the years but your content has given me to drive to give wild camping a go in the lakes over the summer period (April to September). Looking at the Angletarn video for our 1st attempt. Can’t wait. Could you post which stove and wind shield your using in this video. looking at something that will last but suitable for two people. Also looking at the gsi cooking arrangement, dualist set-up for two. Any thoughts? Again thank you (and blue) so much.

Stunning that mate. Really fantastic scenery. You looked like a kid in a sweet shop; your enthusiasm shone through. Blue looked like he was enjoying it as much as you & he looked pretty sheepish when he came back all muddy. The look on his face made me chuckle. Keep up the good work. I’m sure the subs will keep increasing. ATB, Jay 👍

Blue was pretty funny - he was definitely feeling remorse for his actions (until the morning). Funny the stuff they know they shouldn't do, but can't help themselves - mine are exactly the same. Life would be far poorer without our best friends... ps - Awesome channel, love it
