Tip: If you cook food outside in a campfire the Kea will steal it with a possibility of catching on fire and burning down your thatch or wooden shelter. Best to cook it inside where the Kea can't get to it. They may be "dumb" in the game but in real life, they are incredibly intelligent and playful. Being from New Zealand it is a real joy being able to watch them in the wild.

I'm glad to see this back. Aside from the tech issues (lag) which may have been addressed by the devs, and the severe ginding ramp-up (which I hope has been re-balanced, but I'm not holding my breath), this game always felt much more polished and ready for primetime than some of your other mainstay games (such as Mist and The Infected). I'm assuming this game has a larger studio behind it, but that doesn't detract from the fact that I'm really looking forward to this season. Keep up the great work!

I don't know why people whine about grinding...it's a survival game, if things are too quick to get then it defeats the purpose. If things are too easy then a lot of gameplay is lost because you don't have to come up with creative solutions to solve problems. Why are gamers increasingly becoming dopamine-fiends?

@@tevarinvagabond1192 I actually don't mind the grind in a survival game most of the time. This game, in particular, felt a bit excessive. Idk if you watched the last season, but by the end, GE was having to get nearly a thousand of a low tier resource just to make a couple of a high tier resource, and it really just felt excessive, arbitrary, and not realistic. I don't remember what the items were, but it felt like you needed a ton (literally) of iron to be able to create a light bulb (I'm just expressing how it felt; not real game recipes). Maybe some of it was just GE maybe not doing things as efficiently as possible, but it seemed like a rebalance was in order.

@@randyftobias they kinda did rebalance the stuff but not really, the grind came from the excessive need for gold for tier 4 stuf, they changed those crafts to require gold wire instead of just gold ingots but the amounts stay kind of the same, so still very grindy for tier 4 , and answering to @tevarinvagabond1192 grind is not an issue in normal survival games but here, specially if you do missions, you start from 0 evry time and have to re-grind the same things over and over again, and getting to Tier 4 evry time for the hard missions starts to get tidious very fast.

This is the game I keep going back to! Every Friday they seem to do small updates. Game can be frustrating and fun at the same time. Really hope to see more!

Never got the idea behind: Landing in a Metallic capsule, made of Steel maybe Titan-alloy (etc) Lots of Storage: but no Steel tools or even a cooking-knife or something. Stone Axe / Knife, Stone Tools, and Bows ? ... 🤣😂😅

if you right click items in your inventory it will give you the option to deploy, also if you ctrl+shift you can transfer all of the same item

The open world portion of the game is horrendously boring. Your only objective is to survive, that's it. And it takes forever to level up enough to access tier 2 tech. What are you supposed to do for hours and hours? Chop trees, pick rocks, find ore, kill animals? To be honest I haven't tried the scenarios that have objectives yet, I hope they're better

Doesn't mean it's boring overall or bad, it's just for YOU, not everyone is like you. Anyways, your logic is weird because that's literally what most survival games are...to survive. You're an ADHD dopamine-fiend that needs someone to tell you what to do and constant action, and like I said before...that's fine. But, games like DayZ, Conan, Scum, and others are literally the same in that regard...the goal is UP TO YOU! YOU make your own objectives. If you can't understand that then simply don't play, easy

God I love this game!! Best open world survival game in my opinion. The crafting and building is superb And why does this map remind me so much of that cartoon movie ‘The Lorax’ 😂 I know it’s those trees lol

Another thing I love is the weather effects and how they interact with what you build...the terror of being in your base as the storm rips holes in the roof really gets your blood pumping!

I want to buy this, I want to play it, I want to like it, but I've had too many survival games by now, and most of them dont impress. The video makes it look good. Do you think Icarus offers a lot more gameplay than similar titles?

I would love a video breaking down the different game modes and how you swap between them with characters and how exotics /workshop works in gameplay - and how it plays into open world.... no one gives any real explanation on how it all works and for new players like me... I don't understand it lol

it's not a video, but maybe it helps, Outpost mode is useless forget about it, your choice is between missions and open world. you do missions to earn Ren (the yellow currency) and exotics to research and buy stuff from the workshop. you can then bring the stuff you bought with you on missions or open world ( you can also have it delivered to you on planet ). each mission has you start from 0 on the planet so stuff you built previously get's deleted. the only persistent stuf is the items from the workshop ( don't forget to put them into the dropship when you leave a mission). open world is a persistent map where you can build and progress, you can leave the map with the dropship and come back to the same map with the stuff you built with the same or another character and bring more workshop items for example, at the moment there are no exotics nodes on openworld.

There is a whole lore as to why they don't supply anything. We are independent miners anything we get from them i.e the ship store puts us in debt with them. So we choose not to spend anything initially so we aren't tied to them financially. After we prospect and "EARN" our pay do when then buy specialty items.

In that case it's like, I am buying house, so mortgage (or how is it written) but it needs some work, but I will not ask for more money to buy one nail I need cause it would add to the debt. It still doesn't make sense to me. In question of survivality it is plain stupid to travel to new world with no equipment. I would not go "naked as a babe" To survive in the forest here on the earth let alone on the nee planet. I get it for sake of playability it somehow works as it give you more option to evolve, but Story wise it doesn't work for me tho. Game itself looks amazing😍 sorry for any spelling mistakes, it is late and I am lazy to control all above on the phone and thank for sharing the lore 😍

It is like, you arrive in fancy as ship, not crash landing, but you run around with stone knive and axe. What they could do instead: look it would look bad for corporate if you were eaten right after you arrive, here is one axe and knive on the house. It is cheapest one on the market, so, it will break really, really fast, you should come with new equipment asap, but we gave you fair fighting chance, rest is up to you.

They are pretty easy to kill with an arrow head shot. At night the eyes glow read and you can plant one between them while they sit looking at you lol.

the price of this DLC is Outrageous, its as much as the base game it self. Its way too much. As well as this still being an early access game I feel like the focus has become more of a cash grab rather than working on the base game. this game is the ultimate grind in its current form and to get to the next tech took hours of physical grind which for me took the fun out of the game. Its graphically amazing and lots of potential but some elements of the gameplay stopped me playing. IE too much grind for little reward. I cannot justify the DLC price for what you get in return.
