15:50 1920s ? My Nan & Grandad had an outside loo only and no bathroom until they passed away in 1994 and 1995 ! And this was in posh Twickenham, West London ! I suspect it may have one now as they sell for around £1m !

I had to have a little giggle. You and your mom are inside the house, and your mom is reminiscing and recognizing items from her childhood, while you mention about the **old kitchen**, and here I sit thinking, oh goodness, I'm about Imo's mom's age (68), and I'm from that "old" time.. ha. I love museums that feature the good old olden days, and houses that are reminiscent of 30's - 50's. My mom also had one of those drying racks that came down from the ceiling on a pulley system, and I had one too when my oldest was born in /78. Thanks for sharing this wonderful place with us. Lots of interesting things to see. 💟

Great day for you and IM (Invisible mum) with the weather. The week before was the school holiday, The fair was open and also the main building was a craft fair. Was to be outside near 47 the hayshed but the weather was bad. How every many times I go the museum is so peaceful and a great place to enjoy. Did you see the wool in the gift shop?

Oooh thank you. No - I didn't notice the wool. I'm surprised my mum didn't actually, as she is an avid knitter and crotcheter.

The chamber pots before indoor plumbing. Once in an Amish home they built a chair of wood that opened up and held the chamber pots so elderly could use it easier. I think kerosene heaters looked like that one in the camper. Really enjoy vintage home furnishings. Life at the turn of the century was much more labor intensive. So happy you two had a good outing. I filmed our day of rain but going down to 27F for two nights again here! Below freezing in late April?!

Looks like you found your camera battery somewhere along the way - I noticed the museum shots with zoom and the reflection of a DSLR?

It was the Sony Handycam actually. I’ve gone back to it a bit in conjunction with the Canon as I’m frustrated by changing lenses for zooming and just can’t get it as smooth with the canon zoom lens as I can with the Handycam. So I’m back to carrying three cameras around again, but the Handycam is the same size as the zoom lens anyway.

@@PlanetImo very understandable! While you can’t beat the quality of a DSLR or Mirrorless (unless you’re paying £10k+ for a cinema camera), they’re a lot of work and hassle - for your type of running around filming, a handy-cam is often a lot more convenient in my experience

@@GeorgeMaier yeah I think I’ll go with it for now. The canon is way better in low light but the footage in this came out way better than I expected. I’d been fiddling with the settings a bit and it was better.

Oh that was lovely...I do love looking around museusms, galleries, old houses...it was nice for you to spend some time with your mum...I wish I still had my mum...she died in 2002 and I still miss her every day...she would have loved that old farmhouse.
