Day Out With Thomas And Percy The Tank Trains

This is a video I made at the Strasburg railroad's annual event of a day out with Thomas and Percy the train rides. Percy is a Tank car and Thomas is a real steam locomotive that pulls several coaches on a short journey on this train line. Many different views of both trains going by and running over the camera for a great shot of underneath.

Surprised to see the former Maine Eastern Railroad #764 down here. The Maine Eastern Railroad used to run excursion trains along the former Maine Central Rockland Branch from 2004 to 2015. It was quite a loss when they lost the track rights to operate on it in favor of the Central Maine and Quebec Railway running freight trains on the branch line.

No, I'm pretty sure that the side rods and outside cylinders were some of the other engine's parts because this steam operated Thomas replica operates using BEDT #15's parts like thomasdotd said in his video on this replica's history, so yeah, this isn't a repaint, this is a rebuild since the tanks were too small, so this replica keeps #15's legacy alive by operating on its parts.

They bought a Dockside Switcher or "Porter" and rebuilt it since the base engine used was Porter's basis, and even operates using the parts from the Porter they bought, but it was 1998 and during the rebuild, they did a test run with one of the diesels to push the train from the very back, but there was a problem with the replica's face when they lit the fire in the firebox, the heat from the smokebox caused the eyes to melt, and it was quickly fixed by the opening day in 1999 when the test run was done and so was the rebuild, and it operated ever since and it still operates to this day as it now had 2014's makeover with an animatronic face and has even gotten a wash down and looks a lot more cleaner.
