Nothing impressed upon me more, how much Portugal and Spain have changed, since I did the same crossing from Portugal to Spain in 1971. When I was there the highway was a two lane country road. There was no bridge, but a ferry that looked like a raft with a motor. About six cars filled up most of the space on the ferry. Thank you for helping me revisit Europe, sort of, with out leaving home. Also your vlogs are a pleasure to watch because they are very well done and the two of you and friends are having fun most of the time. Thank you.

If your phone gets wet you have to immediately take the battery out then do rice. I went swimming with mine and it worked. Key is to getting the battery out.

I loved the looks of the ice cream shop and the little sandwich place. Nate is lucky he didn’t break his neck by diving into that water. I wish you could have come to Seattle in the summer - it’s like from 5am to 10pm. And then it’s dark all winter! 😂

Seville is lovely city... enough of a small town charm with big city eats and sights.. always wanted to know the tripods/monopod you use for your g7x and the gopro.. it seems very handy and practical. not too big and clunky! keep on traveling

My hubby says the phone probably was submerged too long. Though my 76 year old Mom washed the TV remote full cycle all the through and the rice trick worked. Hubby has just put his two cents in and say, "phones are not TV remotes". So I stand corrected. :P

Now that you're in Europe, you're more in my corner of travel experience. Please don't miss out on the many cathedrals in every country. They tell so much of history. Do be aware that few actually require payment to enter, but they ask for a donation - usually .50 or €1 per person. Also, some will not allow women in with their shoulders uncovered, so wear short sleeves or carry a large scarf with you to cover up with.

I do find the videos where you are with your friends and family to be very different, which is to be expected. I'm fairly well traveled and some of the best food I have had is in Portugal. Also, I've never had the problems you had when traveling withing Portugal. It seemed like your game was off there.

For anyone out there - leaving phone in a bag of rice is waste of time. Just bring it ASAP to a phone repair shop, they will dismantle and dry the motherboard. Usually you have to replace the LCD too, but you could be lucky and get away with just internal clean.

Croquetas (pronounced Crow-kay-TAS) are so delicious. As is the case with most Spanish food (it's my favorite after Italian and Caribbean/Puerto Rican). ❤❤❤. I hope you get to try Spanish Churros. From what I've been told, some of the world's best are located in a bakery in Madrid.

hahaha 100 montaditos. If you go Sundays and Wednesday's is everthing for 1€. if you like Spanish tapas I recommend you La Sureña that is similar to the 100 montaditos

My sister in law planned to spend a year there, also for school, but there were NO accomodations arranged when they got there. They had to scramble for themselves and she,+ 3 other girls finally found a place owned by an ex-pat former soldier who married a local woman, and the whole thing was a disaster. They suspected he owned a stripper bar because he wouldn't let them go there because it would affect the " waitresses" income. They had No hot water, it was not safe anywhere, soldiers with guns in the streets often threatened the girls then laughed. The Spain university closed on strike and left them stranded, they couldn't get back to the US. She quit the "program" and got a job at a US owned company and stayed for a year and really learned the language and living experience but she hated it all except her job. She came back to the US for a family wedding half way through and then went back with a suitcase full of tuna, peanut butter and Tampax. She said it was the worse place except for the filthy rich. Everything was outrageously expensive so she could barely afford to eat.
