Spent a harvest in summer 1999 on one of these. Great tractor. Only thing was the visibility out the back due to the air con unit when grain carting. The gearbox probably went into the MX135 etc that followed.

Hi Olly watching you do the walk around on the Case Maxxum I have to agree with you it looks much smaller than I remember we had one in 93 mainly to lug our Standen potato harvester I am sure it was much bigger back then and a monster compared to our 956xl fleet however now I am not so sure it was a great bit of kit though I liked the digital dash display seemed very high tech back then 👍

Should get the firm building the houses doing the roundabout would of been done in a week. The maxxum is a brilliant tractor a farm I used to work on had one and it pulled like a train.

We hat a 960tt on demo, smart tool, but wouldn’t work for us, so we got a wheeled one instead! Also, the steps and getting in and out of the cab was like those old johndeeres with the SG2 cabs

Early maxxums were clutchless between foward & reverse but had to use clutch to pull away as there was no neutral on F/R lever

here is a good tip for you to clean ur glass quick with paint or overspray use 000 grade wire wool it cleans quick and wont scratch or mark the glass i use it when fitting windows in landrovers

I would imagine it's cheaper as wheeled or tracked are driven from the same drive wheel. I could be wrong but that's how it looks to me where as class can't be altered from tracked to wheeled.

I remember having a Maxum on demo , many moons ago luggin sugar beet , obviously brand new tyres and a full set of weights , , , hopeless ! It wouldn't pull our 10 Salop trailer up the sticky banks so only one thing for , get my Ford 8210 , no weights and balding tyres back on the job , boom straight up the banks ! 😀 90% today 👍
