Speaking to Congratulations rap not hitting as hard in english, that's likely an intentional personal choice by lyric writer YoungK. The original in korean was written with a much more resentful/ angsty sentiment ("it still hurts every time I breathe") when I assume his break up was more fresh. In 2019 he said he wishes he could change the lyrics because "I was mad back then." He hasn't changed the korean lyrics, but he delivers it completely differently now live- sing songy rather than his ranting aggressive rap of 2015/16. This english version ("I give you my best wishes, I'm over you, we're overdue") likely gave him a chance to change the rap to better reflect his feelings at the time. EDIT: Rockier Day6 Songs- their Japanese discography, and then off the top of my head 'Rescue Me' 'Headache' 'WARNING!' . On the sexier side but still rocky '121U'. The song other than 'I Wait' that people say reminds them on an anime opening: 'Love me or leave me'. I would say in general my advice is to do full Album Listens instead of dot around like that though.

I remember seeing a fancam of them performing the English version of Congratulations live, and YoungK slipped back into Korean in the middle of the rap and got kinda embarrassed. XD So maybe that has something to do with them not performing it much lol. Plus Congratulations is basically MyDay's song now, so they tend to let us sing the first verse or more on our own. I know there is a concert DVD, I think it's called The Best Moments? And I think you'll love their Japanese songs, especially If Mata Aetara, Breaking Down and Stop the Rain! Also, YoungK did a collab with LUCY for one of his YoungOne covers -- it's what introduced me to LUCY, and one of my favorites of his collabs so far. And I'm with you on English versions of kpop songs. They're kind of hit or miss, even when there are English-speaking members in the group. One I love though is Stray Kids' Levanter. It was actually the first version of the song I listened to, and I still pretty much only listen to that version.

Hi! I’m so glad you reacted to these two videos! I listened to the English version of Congratulations for WEEKS when I first got into DAY6 😂 if I remember correctly, I think Young K and Jae wrote the English version of Congratulations as more of an reinterpretation instead of a literal translation. ALSO, your comment about Jae as an indie sad boi had me dying LOL. I look forward to your reaction of Onewe and Alexa’s collab! 😄

There are some more b-sides that are more rock rather than pop, and some tracks have concert videos on their channel as well. Rather than EoD being a test of a new sound for the full band, it seemed like it was just a natural direction they went to because of the instrumental restrictions of the sub-unit. EoD did some cool rearrangements of some Day6 songs for their online concert though. Great to see a Day6 video on your channel again!

Hi how are you?! :D Have you listened to their bsides? they have a lot harder songs. For example 60-80s classic hard rock 'Deep In Love' and 'Rescue Me' from The Book Of Us: Entropy Album, some articles genre-lize it as 'LA Metal'. The other is 'Warning' from ShootMe: Youth Part 1 Album. Also, there are some other songs that harder than 'I Wait' such as 'Not Mine', 'Not Fine', 'Stop Talking', 'STOP', and 'How can I say'. They even have a bossa nova + montuno influenced song titled 'OUCH' and '365247' from The Book Of Us: Entropy Album. A reggae-ish + alternative rock song titled 'Stop Talking'. Also some upbeat EDM like 'Love Me or Leave Me', 'Day and Night', and a Disco 'Emergency'. in my opinion, given that each of them have sharpened their songwriting skills by learning from other artists and by incorporating styles they haven't explored much before, next comeback will definitely be a new genre of day6 entirely. they’ve all learned so much individually over the past year, that the very thought of what they might do with their next album is so exciting. just to see the culmination of all their hard work come together and manifest is gonna be amazing

For the English version of Double Knot, Bang Chan said he wrote all the lyrics for it, but it doesn't sound as good as the original because it's a fast-paced, rap heavy song which makes it's hard to write lyrics that keep both the original meaning and flow of the raps. I personally didn't like it either, but after listening to it multiple times, it's turned into a banger 😂

YAY DAY6 IS BACK!!!!! They have concert videos on their main channel(they are just as long as normal music videos so the video isn't long!) Honestly, they make you feel like you are at the concert even though you are at home! There is also an English version of You were beautiful! LOVE YOUR REACTIONS AS ALWAYS!

Btw, up until now DAY6 have 3 concert live album. 1) CODA (their debut year, 6 member) 2) The Best Moments DVD (EveryDAY6 encore concert) and 3) Youth concert DVD (the first stop of DAY6 1st world tour in Seoul). I think 2) and 3) has in yt (beware around 2hrs ++++). Both english ver you react is from Japanese album so they won’t play it outside japan.

I honestly never like english versions of songs, if they are originally in english then i do, but not if they are translated... EXCEPT when it comes to Day6, Brian is such an amazing lyricist i swear Also i love n.flying! So definitely would recommend :)

I love kbands!! Some of my favorites are Day6, N. Flying, Lucy, and The Rose. For some older band I like F.T. Island, and C.N. Blue. (Not sure why most of them have letters and periods...must be a trend..) if you want I can recommend songs from any of them that I like. Each one has a different vibe and sound, which I love. 💜

I think there are 3 or 4 live concert performances on the DAY6 channel? They released them last year and I’m pretty sure it includes Congratulations and Shoot Me. I believe they’re from the “Gravity” Tour. As for full concerts, they have the Youth Concert and the Best Moments DVD (highly recommended, they did such a great job; they went so hard!!!). And I really think you should react to the Japanese releases (they have some MVs: Stop The Rain, Breaking Down, If, and Finale (this one is more on the pop-side but the others are hard!!!). And I feel like you’ll enjoy their Japanese album “Unlock”. It’s a hidden gem.

hoping to see FTISLAND on k-band Thursdays! they're the first instrumental idol band of Korea and their debut was a huge hit charting #1 for 8 consecutive weeks or so. they were only allowed to release and promote their self-produced songs later on in their career but their so good. the front man of the band is like GOD his vocals >>>> he's also friends with Taka of One Ok Rock, a j-band.
