HYBE isn't a label. It's an entertainment conglomerate that houses several labels. All of those labels have their own creative teams and autonomy and none of them have more than two boy groups. Big Hit Entertainment (BTS & TXT), Pledis (Seventeen), Ador (though that's now likely defunct) (New Jeans), Belift (Enhypen and Illit), Source Music (Le Serafim), and HYBE Japan (&Team). So idk how much cannibalizing they do. They're all very different and appeal to different audiences as opposed to SM boy groups or JYP boy groups that have similar sounds and concepts.

Please check out the album!! All the other songs are emotional and deep. While I do wish selfish waltz had been the title, I get why they had it be ice on my teeth. I’m also obsessed with the MV there’s such amazing storytelling and hidden meanings in it. And when you listen to the album in order I think it gives the lyrics in Ice on my Teeth a much different and deeper meaning too! Ateez are storytellers and always do everything on purpose. I’m excited to see how this plays in to the lore and all the theories I’ve seen circulating are really cool. I personally love that they experiment with different styles of music for each of their album series. I love this chill hip hop mature vibe from them. It proves they can still have a big impact even without their crazy double time outros. This album is one of my favorites from them, the production is out of this world.

I love that even while you're trying to survive thru the video lol, you're still giving meaningful commentary on the music and on how it's on brand and yet an added dimension of Jennie. I've heard other commentators presume that Jennie's music video is simply her "selling out"/marketing strategy for the "Western market". It's so reductive as if artists who made their name from the kpop industry need to stay in their lane, and it totally belies Jennie as an individual who didn't even spend her childhood in South Korea and has been spending so much more of her time living in the States recently. Moreover, it's clear from her lyrics that her sexy confidence is an anthem for all the girls, that every type of girl is a pretty girl who deserves to love themself. She's having fun, but that's not the same as being shallow

you are right, people are setting really high standards for music for rose and more forgiving with others. others can put out lame tracks and people will still be okay with it. But for Rose the comments can be brutal. It's not fair, but i've seen her instagram live sneak peak of the songs; and I think as far as critical analysis of her songs/album goes, she will not disappoint. Her album seems to be put together intentionally -- it has a story and theme around the songs and it will take you on a journey. it's not like just putting a mish-mash of songs to see what works. it's all or nothing for her with this album. the lyrics seem really heavy though -- like a breakup album. she only spoiled 6 of the 12 songs; but those who have listened to all 12 tracks says that the final song is a good closing to the album -- and can be 'hopeful' if you listen to it a certain way. I am so excited for her album. She dropped 2 versions of the vinyl already -- a red one and a pink one. But it always goes sold out after just 10 mins or so! And she drops em at early morning times for Asia; i always miss it.

I was a little skeptical about the track, given just the title, although I wasn't disappointed. Definitely not my favorite song but I loved the video! It was amusing seeing everyone all suited up and then San just... not... for half the shots. Hongjoong is the only person on the planet that could ever pull off wearing a giant white bow, really. They do just have this way of making you not hate a song you would probably hate from any other group, right? Dunno what kind of magic that is. I agree that seeing them live helps as well. I finally finally got to see them live, at Globe Life Field on my birthday in July, and it was amazing. It even made me actually like "Work", which I had very lukewarm feelings about before the show. Birthday was their japanese release, and they had another song on that album. Also about the 2 tracks with another group, its a collaboration between ateez and Japanese group Befirst, befirst isnt like &team where they promote in korea, they're only japanese so it was really cool seeing that collab outta nowhere. If i remember correctly it happened when ateez were invited to perform on D.U.N.K which is like a whole big performance show, they were invited by Sky-HI who's a japanese artist/producer and also the one responsible for the show. And after that ATEEZ met befirst because Sky-HI is their producer and they ended up making 2 songs together. The first one called Hush-Hush has a full MV, the second one called Royal only has a lyrics video and is produced by Mingi, if you look at the credits his name is all over it guitar, bass, pretty everything. I actually think you'd enjoy Befirst their energy kinda matches ateez ans their rappers are insanely good and their vocals aswell!

I liked this a lot more than work, although i wish Selfish Waltz would've been the title track that song is definitely my favorite on the album! As a longtime Blink, I can confidently say that the vast majority of Blinks were Freeking far from ok with their extended breaks and minimal song production. I can confidently say that the fandom was all up in YG's face alleging gross negligence and utter mismanagement and incompetence for producing such limited music material. The only thing that kept us from rampaging into YG's offices was the occasional AWESOME comeback. Ah, I've also lamented the shift in music style and genre of kpop over the years. I do listen to early skz sometimes and think, "wow we really grew out of that rock and edm inspired teenage angst." Happened to me with BTS around DNA era back in the day too. Think about it though, we would never get a boy group like B.A.P nowadays! Not necessarily a bad thing, just different. The industry and the trends change with time. But it is bittersweet to suddenly realize that the window for some of our favorite type of music closed without us being fully aware it was ending. 30:40 this was something i've always wondered too, for how talented they are, genuinely the most lovable and loving people, you'd expect them to have so much popularity. and they do!! but i fear it really is credible to only them for their achievements. they still haven't made their korean debut, however, but the way their promotions are treated in comparison to other HYBE groups has always made me ?????? because they could so easily be viral, harua and maki have been blowing up this past week alone, haura in their cover of supernova (outside people calling him the blonde twink affectionately LMFAO) and maki wearing a hoodie with ex-bisexual CTFU... but my point is they're such a lovable group all around. and since they're conjoint in lore with enha, it always made question why only dark moon the blood altar only got proper promotions. or even sending their freshly debuted groups to MAMA. because &AUDITION had the same traction as I-LAND... it just really irks me when you see the comparison to their other groups, even their freshly debuted ones... but funnily enough we've had more conjoint content with BND and ZB1 then we have EN-, and it could be because of fandom... idk just so many questions and not enough answers however i adore &TEAM and i'm glad you're getting into them more!! and all around loving group, and i think that's why i gravitated to them so much, it could be because it feels sincere, and they've always verbally and openly supported various people
