Actually, not all cats give allergy. My mom is allergic to cats, and we adopted one that didn’t give her any allergy! Generally, the cat allergy is caused by a hormone that some cats have in their saliva, and when they clean themselves, they leave it all over their body. The thing is that not all cats have it, but idk how u can know if one cat has it or not, what my mom did was to go beside it for a while, and see if she got any reaction to it.

I was thinking the same thing! I'd like to let Jae know about this. I didn't know about it either, and I'm allergic too, but then I rescued a kitten and realized I could literally snuggle with it and still be fine. I adopted him and now I'm happy in catland lol

My friend and her family have like 13 cats (and 2 dogs) even though she is allergic to animals fur. But she has her ways of dealing with it (I could never). And she often has baby kittens and puppies around the house too. Her flat smells really disgusting and it's relatively small, but I think it's worth it for her. They also have birds. It's a running gag in our class that her house is a complete zoo😂. I couldn't even imagine having to take care of so many animals, but she likes it.

I wanna tell Jae that some cat breeds are considered hypoallergenic as they don't loose much dead fur around the house and produce very little Fel d 1, which is a protein present in cats' fur, skin and saliva that happens to trigger allergic reactions. He may consider having a Russian Blue, a Bengal, a Cornish / Devon Rex... Or even a Siberian (though siberians loose a significant amount of fur). Obviously, he can also have a Sphinx (I personally find Sphinxes quite hard to take care of as they need to take regular baths). One last thing: female cats produce less Fel d 1 than males, and the amount is also reduced if the cat gets castrated.
