Hi Olly!! I have been asked by my dad to comment on this. The Massey 1250 on this video, he drove from new in 1981 for several years! He knows this because the water cooler on the roof, the turbo and the fact it was supplied by Collins Brothers as they are MF dealer 😀 he has sent me some photos of it back then if of interest 😀

When I was working for a living I worked on Hinckley point we cooled down the spent fuel rods in the Poole most interesting I even stood on top of the reactor dead silent good memories though I’m 80% because of War reg. Kev.

Loving the 1200 stuff. Guessing the one that came from Norwich was supplied by Riches of Melton, Larkmans of Attleborough or Thurlow Nunn of Elmswell. Pity there is no dealer sticker. I believe VE was a Suffolk registration.

When you see the supplies coming into your shed it just makes you realise the scale of what is needed and how many hundreds if not thousands of lorry loads that will be needed to support these people. Been on the just giving, not doing as well as I thought but wonder if the title put people off and don’t realise they can give any amount not just a ton of grain 🤷🏻‍♂️

Massey 1200 takes me back, I was a MF trained mechanic at the time, working for NAE in Malton, n.yorks, no longer in business. first 1200 sold, I got the job of PDI it, another mechanic at the same time was sent to MF training school on a coarse for the 1200. The truck driver refused to deliver it on his truck, he said he would drive it, after steering round the yard, he refused that, so i got the job, farm was only 3 miles away, I duly delivered it, all seamed well, all farm staff was shown by me how to operate it, farmer gave me £5, big tip back then, I drove his well knackered MF 188 back to base, on pulling up in yard, 1200 owner was stood there, I got out all smiles, I think that £5 is a dud, taking it out, he snapped it out of my hand, that 1200 is fucked, leaking oil every where!!

We’ve been negligent regarding both food and fuel for as you say 30 years plus. We also need to be aware of the Chinese creeping into the UK. They own lots of tech companies and Hugh amounts of property. They don’t honour contracts and patents are a joke, if you have a patent it just means your idea is worth pinching. The global economy sounds fine until somebody dos’ the play by the rules. We need to wake up.

The American built 4000 series. 4840 and 4880 came to this country, Cummins 903 V8.
