The IH 585XL pair were sold at the Cheffins sale in April. They were ex British Sugar presumably from Bury St Edmunds factory. They were listed as having done 1600 hrs each, the one you looked at had a new hour clock at some time. Both sold for £9200 + VAT + buyers premium. The yellow tractor was a MM Minneapolis Moline.

Those 585s would be worth collecting since they’re so original, we had one new as a scraper tractor with an xl cab…

Hi Olly, I never get bored of looking around John's place, he has an incredible collection of classics. The Fordson with the Liverpool attachment could well have had its components built very close to you. Lucas had a factory that was just off tarbock island.. Cheers mate 👍

Fantastic blog Olly - what a place that John has!! The two “yellow three wheeled tractors” you looked at were manufactured by Minneapolis Moline and possibly date from around 1938. Boiler repairs required again!! Will make an interesting video.

@@OllyBlogsAgricontractfarmer Yeah, but where did all the old Renaults go? You see old John Deers, Case etc. Someone said they all got exported to eastern Europe back in the day. Just seems like theres that many still in the UK. I remember growing up in the Borders seeing them all the time.
@stevepettifer48962 жыл бұрын
Nearly certain I had a Britains toy version of that Renault as a kid. Had a Volvo and (I think) a Fiat as well. Loved those farm toys, had all sorts like a New Holland combine in yellow, baler and round baler, round bail trailer, potato harvester, tipping trailers, towed forage harvester and all sorts. Spent all my pocket money on them! Wanted to be a farmer as a kid after we had holidays on a small farm in North Devon (mainly because I loved the machines, so your job would have been pretty much my dream back then), but despite living in a East Anglia no one ever really explained how a kid who wasn't from a farming family could get into it. Now I'm a software developer, but at least I still live in the countryside. Never got to drive the tractors though :(

With Roadless if it was a "ploughmaster" that meant it had a ww2 American army lorry axle (GMC CCKW) , that axle on the 78 would have been at least 36 years old going on that tractor, same axle as the 6 cylinder super major one outside
