I think what made Golos FotD overpowered was they were never vulnerable to getting land screwed. They pretty much want to flood land, but if they don't that's okay too because all their cards let them get land.

It’s also extremely consistent, the match up plays out the same way pretty much every time and even if you can clear the board you will always run out of answers even if they only draw lands every single turn

I mean, I’m charging head first at pure math, specifically nilpotent geometries and ring theory/operative modifiers, because it might relate and more closely display the phenomena around quantum physics. It’s been funny to realize how little professors actually know about the math around us. We mostly just use computers to invisibly communicate the world to each other so no one person has to do it. It’s in this way computers have been a cure for humanity’s suffering. You don’t have to bash your brains out or have no medium to broadcast your thought, but in the same vain, we are just chimps communicating through keyboards. It’s only when someone understands a relation between two topics and goes into explaining the relation do we actually progress as a society. I mean, everything that we’ve come up with and done has probably been done before and the scary thing is that we’re about to hit the classic physical limit for transistor size somewhere around 2025. The reason why math relates to computer science is actually through computer engineering and a computer’s bit space. Any math function you may create will inevitably have to be made within a domain defined by and with limits proportional to the number of bits. So what you do with that relates to a matter of efficiency; you need to set a potentially convergent relationship that reuses the same bits, or defined with computer science in the most efficient way. Which inevitably changes the amount of math we’re capable of observing. It’s legitimately crazy how far math has been taken though, the whole field barely gets paid and just does what it wants. If you want to be a pure math expert, you must love nothing else other than math in your life; at least that’s what my professor had explained to me. We even came up with stuff like Chaos theory which can convert convergent/non-convergent functions to each other using a binary system. Like to derive or integrate chaos theory, you instead just remove or add a significant figure from the chain. But I know very little on chaos theory so don’t take my word as law, but I had a part of it explained to me and it blew my mind.

Dies to removal, that's the only reason it's "bad". There's a lot of removal that hits it very early. But if you can protect it, it's clutch.

@@TaKKun1123 I almost never play it early. I run Grixis control and it's literally the only creature in my deck. It gets dropped after I've either emptied their hand or have enough counters to feel comfortable. Id say like like 95% of matches I never drop it prior to turn 4-5. Its not perfect for every build in its colors but its hardly as bad as Sean seems to think.

@@adamplentl5588 Totally agree. I love playing it turn 5 with a Lazotep Plating up. (RIP Dive Down.) A card that strengthens Drown in the Loch by 2, draws you a usually-usable card that can't get discarded, and forces your opponent to play around both your deck and theirs? Not to mention, just the threat of it hitting will often make opponents hold back flyers. It's not as good as it used to be with Arboreal Grazers and Hydroid Krases all over the place, but I still love the card and what it can do.

They should have restricted Field. Or changed it to legendary. Hell it should have been legendary to begin with. I don't think field was as big a problem as some of the 3 Mana Planeswalker a that just say "you can't play the game now" i.e. Narset, Oko, Teferi. I've played against field and used unmoored ego to take them away and they still win because they just have power in their 3 Mana walkers that bounce my win cons or turn them into 3/3 elks etc.

The only format that restricts cards is legacy. Erratas are a terrible idea if it's nerfing cards something wizards already tried long ago and decided against. And I agree doing that is stupid as it doesn't benefit the card other than make it practically unplayable in constructed. And while in standard it's powerful outside of that where land hate is more abundant it's not. As for the Planeswalkers honestly are very powerful but I don't believe they are overpowered enough to need a ban(not like they would ban them just look at esper control) with field of the dead gone a lot of decks have a change to function since many fridge decks didn't succeed because of said card. Maybe instead of complaining and raving they need a ban try different decks out cause the format isn't solved in a couple of days after a ban

Oh and if you need help oko makes the base power 3/3 so if they have +1/+1 counters they keep them and a lot of cards at the moment have low base power but high +1/+1 synergy like mono green Yorvo for example which is very aggressive. Gruul is also in a prime spot. Or esper control/doom foretold is also in a high spot as they run cards that are hard for oko to interact and play at sorcery speed. Or mono red as they still have many tools even if not being up to par with their past iterations. Mono black cat combo is also doing very well. Golos is still not dead with fires of invention. Jund food doesn't run oko and is looking very good.
