Not everyone you see in the show acts like they’re portrayed. Sharon and Phi phi are perfect examples. Sharon is a racist asshole and phi phi is a rather kind and nice person. If they want you to be a villain they’ll find a way

Her Drag is special and was quite overlooked a lot during the Season. Hope she comes back for AllStars and gets her flowers. That first elimation really threw a shadow on her cuz she was suprisingly versatile and good at other challenges, especially towards the second half of the competition. She has a big personality and knows how to stirr the pot + she ate freaking bugs all Season - What more do you want ? I want to see more of her Scene Kid + Zero-Waste + Gagaesque Drag in the Future.

I wish they acknowledged that the Crystal the judges saw was not the Crystal outside of the show because they made her change her mug. So of course Daya wouldn’t think she paints like Crystal! It’s not her fault that Crystal had to paint softer, ie more like Daya, to appease the judges her season. And as for the aesthetic, I mean, you never see pageant girls being critiqued this way, it’s such a double standard.

Exactly, I really liked daya Betty’s “hard” aesthetic. It was a different sexy than I usually see on there. One of the judges came for her shape with the wide shoulders theme saying it was too cylindrical. It’s like they want everyone to Appear as the same woman, basically being attractive to the male gaze and not straightforward to the point of the aesthetic. It’s not unrealistic in a way, it’s very fun and not a sexualized version of that concept. When it is, it makes it harder for it to be understood and appreciated because the focus is only on if the sexual undertones are there.

I think Daya is insecure about her looks and ended up projecting that at both Jasmine & Jorgeous. Several times she commented on their bodies & looks carrying them... so I believe it's all insecure ego-driven behaviour. She's not a bad person, happy people don't take other people's happiness, she needs to iron out the things she dislikes about herself.

I think she was just speaking the frustration that was on her mind. And I see why she was frustrated. She served absolutely amazing looks every episode, she had some of the best of the entire season! but was given very little acknowledgment for it. I don't see why she would be insecure about her looks, she has nothing to be insecure about. But she definitely seemed annoyed that the judges didn't appreciate her work, and the time and energy that went into them. Especially the ball look, I mean she was pretty clear about her feelings during that episode. I don't see any reason to read into it any deeper than what she said herself.

Compliments & criticism come from the same place, what you’re focusing on, it just depends on whether it’s from a place of admiration or insecurity, Daya has some inner conflicts going on… and you’re right, Daya has nothing to be insecure about, she looked fierce af, especially in the Catwalk video, probably my fav of that episode, but she rarely, if ever, goes full glamor, which only compounds what I think, even if I know she does alternative drag over glamor drag, there’s still opportunities there, but she rarely takes them.
