To be fair. Dyan has always had a nac for making the first truly good of puzzle types. Megaminx, guhong, 2x2. Etc

Absolutely, and I think this is no exception! DaYan have really tried to set the bar nice and high for FTO hardware. There are still plenty of improvements to be made but this is an amazing FTO debut!

@@pengusplayz5756 hard to say because I don't have much time to record stuff over the next few weeks. I will say that I have been absolutely loving the DaYan so far. Which are you and the FTO enthusiasts watching this video looking forward to, the Diansheng FTO Large size? or the DaYan FTO Small size?
@EddtheRexMan2 ай бұрын
Honestly, a smaller version of the DaYan would be ideal. A larger Diansheng would have no advantage over the current DaYan. After several days of solving, I've broken all my pbs except single so I am happy to say that the DaYan is definitively better, unless the large size is a deal breaker (it isn't for me). In fact, I never got a 14 on the Diansheng but I just got a 14.51 today on the DaYan 🔥

@@EddtheRexMan maybe so, but I guess we shouldn't have had super high expectations since this was the first ball-core attempt on an FTO so I assume they wanted to make sure it'd work first? Maybe we'll see a Dayan FTO mini in the future?

@@RubiksRonaldo that will be a large part of my feedback in the review, I expect. I do wonder if the size is partly down to sourcing washers, magnetic rings and screws that would be too large if the puzzle was smaller 🤔

Really looking forward to getting mine, I ordered it a couple days ago and it will get here probably next week. I have the lanlan, the Rexto, and the danshang, I've heard this thing basically is the gan of FTOs. I do wish it was a bit smaller like the DanShang but theres nothing you can do about that I guess. Maybe finally the WCA will make this an official event.
@EddtheRexMan2 ай бұрын
@@draakisback I do agree that I would prefer the DaYan to be smaller, the Diansheng's size actually makes my hands cramp, so I think I would like a version of this FTO about 1-2mm larger than the Diansheng
@draakisback2 ай бұрын
@@EddtheRexMansmaller sizes are usually good for long periods of solving, but if the puzzle is light enough it shouldn't matter too much. Still it is nice to have something that is easy to put into a pocket. I'm sure some other company will make yet another FTO soon enough especially if the WCA picks up the puzzle as an event. Perhaps dayan will even release a V2 in a couple years if the puzzleas sell well.

@@ColorBlock11 Zhihai (larch_cuber on Instagram) made the following comparisons: 1. LanLan is like an old Rubik's brand 2. QiYi's upcoming FTO is like a Qimeng V3 3. Diansheng is like a Mr. M 4. DaYan is like a Gan 11 M Pro Now I don't have many 3x3s to compare this to, but I would say it feels significantly better than any FTO I've tried before, and I haven't even set it up yet
