Kindly suggest which side is better to start from - Barsu or Raithal.

Personally, I will suggest to start from one side and end on the other side. This will be an amazing route. Raithal -> Dayara -> Barsu

Can we camp without permission?

No Ranjan. One has to take permit from forest department in Uttarkashi Magistrate office.. Also camping on Meadows is Ban, so one can camp only within the tree line.

@@nikumindian yes in meadows i know it is ban to camp. But i asked one of my friend his father is in forest dept., his father told no need for permission for locals people of uttarakhand. Your say on this?

@@ranjanmaithani6263 Right, local villagers don't need permission. Because they take their cattles up and then they stay in their Shepard huts there.

Thank you for such lovely words! And yes, it can be done by self, the trail well marked. But remember to take forest permission from Uttarkashi District collectorate. Be well prepared physically and with high altitude as well.
