Daydream Era - Patch
Back when I started this whole series, admittingly I have made some questionable choices when it came to moveset design for some of the characters. Certain characters here will be getting huge overhauls, while others only get a few changes. So let's cap that era off by taking a look back at it and rethinking the design for some movesets, shall we?
This should NOT have taken me as long to make as it did. I have had these patch changes in my notes for well over a year, and I was wanting to get this out in 2021. Unfortunately, some things aren't meant to be. At least I finally got this out.

Genuinely super excited to see more Lawl Dreams content- animation was super lovely and the changes were all really nice! Also really liked Osaka's glowup, she's now so well refined I love it. Very excited to see when the first standard showcase comes out because your animation is really top notch and fun to watch!

This was awesome Lux!! The sprite glow ups and everything are FANTASTIC and this just makes me want to play this even more with Tamatoa's new buffs and Arle being Arle. Holy shit I was actually on time this time. Thanks KZbin, very cool. Besides that, this was a fun watch. I like how Osaka was changed to be based her character, rather than just references, especially with Down Special, Tamatoa’s Changes were cool, Lammy let’s gooooo!!!!!!!, and I can’t wait for Arle’s Standard Showcase. Also that ending bit was a 10/10. Great work, and I can’t wait for who’s next.

I know there's a lot of love for Osaka, but I need to shout out my boi Tamatoa. He was the moveset that hooked me (get it?) on Dreams, and seeing his overhaul did not disappoint. Naturally all the movesets were also an upgrade, whether visually or balance wise. Overall, gooooooooood shit. Also, hyped for the silhouetted character if I'm right on who they be.

yo this was incredibly good! all the patches really helped the characters where they needed, and the combos were a really good touch! obviously, my favorite was osaka's, because azumanga daioh is very good + all the new sprites, attacks and combos you showed off for her were amazing as hell! (especially love the chiyo chan throws) also i wonder who that could be in guest's segment, hmmmmmmmmm all in all, absolutely amazing work! can't wait until the next one!

DANG, This patch is Phenomenal! EVERY character got very well made and justified Changes to their Movesets! The comboes in this video made my jaw drop with how realistic and fluidly animated they were! As for the individual characters themselves: Tamatoa: First off, GREAT choice of Music! Anyways, I love how Shiny was justified and given the significance it should in Tamatoa’s Moveset! The new functionality of his Side B seems very cool and fun to use, and I personally LOVED the Gimp that was used with it! His Up B felt like a much better recovery, and his Down B felt MUCH more balanced. And that new Final Smash is A MAJOR improvement from the previous one, and looks amazing! Osaka: I saw Osaka’s Timestamp and thought she was getting a full in remake, but you managed to take those not-too-greatly executed moves, and patched them to a greatly degree, and made them work Great! I absolutely love the new Playstyle given to Osaka, as it fits her character much better! I HEAVILY enjoyed that Combo she did with her new Down B, both of which are great! And I Think the new change to her Final Smash makes it much better to hit with, and doesn’t make it too overpowered either. The new animations are great btw. BrickBattle Guest: I honestly think Guests moveset was pretty solid, but the patches improved upon it in a way I didn’t expect, which is great! The compatibility of his bomb with the blocks was a great addition to his toolkit, and I think the Final Smash getting a buff and Neutral B getting a nerf was pretty justified and well done! Oh, and that new victory screen is one of the best things I have seen with my eyes so far. Arle: Pretty solid patches all around, and I think reworking her gimmick to be more beneficial in Neutral was a very good call, and This makes Arle much more fun to play with imo. Pony Ri-Uncle Samsonite: I do think that giving Uncle samsonite more options with his Neutral B makes it much more *fun* to use, and much more useful in-game. All other patches were great! Nano: I also Agree that Nano plays Exceptionally well, so minor patches and to her makes perfect sense, and it made her more balanced in 2 areas she needed. Yukari: Once again, not much to say, but these patches were still well thought-out and realized, and I really enjoyed Yukari being touched up upon. Overall GREAT quality! I really REALLY enjoyed this Video and I’m excited to see more Lawl Dreams in the future! I’m glad that, even if they go from minor to big, these patches are very good and helpful toward the characters and their movesets! I think Goro’s Idle is VERY good, And lastly, I REALLY thought that having an indicator for a character being able to speak Japanese or English on their HUD was a super good and subtle touch. AMAZING job Lux! This was worth the wait!

Yo! This is nothing short of amazing like always! Everyone feels so much more balanced with these patches, and I feel I might have a 2nd main in the form of Tamatoa with all his changes (THAT NEW FINAL SMASH THOUGH, HOLLY @$+# I LOVE IT SO MUCH!!. Plus the amazing choice of using I need it shiny). There's not really much else I can say, good luck on whatever is next star! Also, the idle for Goro is just godly dude! (Also, I know who that silhouette is and while I'm not gonna say who is it, I AM SO HYPED FOR THEM!!!)

Actually, Osaka's side smash is based off two things: 1. In the Manga, I recall there being a few strips where Osaka rocked back and forth on a chair. 2. In the popular "Osaka Simulator" fangame, there's an animation Ayumu can do where she gets on the only chair at her desk and begun rocking back and forth on it until she rocks the chair too far on one side and falls flat first on her face. But yea, this was less of something taken from the show and moreso a thing made up that I thought was fitting for her, taking the 2 things I mentioned before as references.
