Erkenci Kus (English title: Early Bird) is a Turkish-made romantic comedy series by Gold Film.
Sanem (Demet Özdemir) is a girl who works in her father's grocery store and is loved by everyone. But her family tells her that she will marry if she can't find a job. Sanem starts working in an advertising agency to avoid getting married. But she doesn't know what awaits her in her new job. The manager of his company is the handsome, intelligent and cultured Can (Can Yaman). Since Sanem always manages to get into trouble, this situation attracts Can's attention and a great love story begins.

She may be naive at the beginning but this far out in their relationship and how Can has proven his love and devotion to her and chose to believe Yigit, she is nothing but beyond stupid! Can did wrong in wanting to control Sanem's career choice and is not good to do to a girlfriend, later on wife but Sanem needs to understand also where he is coming from. Can is obsessive in his love for her but Sanem is an idiot also.

Even to the end of the series, Sanem doesn’t tell the truth - she never tells her family that she told Can to leave and she didn’t believe him or trust him over Yighit. She made her family and friends hate him.

Sanem has crowded her relationship with other people's voices. Can told her not to trust his mom, yet she causes what Huma says to push her to doubt and rash decisions. She also only thinks in the now and not after the dust settles. Also, she is honest with people who don't matter (Yigit), but approaches Can with a lack of trust and dishonesty.

Yigit is so creepy. He was slightly creepy when he had the accident with Sanem, the way he read her personal diary, etc. Intentionally burning her note book and blaming Can. However, pretending to walk with a limp for an entire year, is plain crazy. I'm looking forward to him being outed.

Oh my goodness Sanem pick a side and stick with it, team Can or team Yighit? At that moment in the hospital clearly Sanem picked team Yighit and she got to deal with the consequences of her choice. But again she complained about those consequences, well if life has taught us one thing it is that, you cannot have your cake and eat it, Lady Sanem. Wonderful series with many life lessons and an exceptional job to both leading protagonists and their supporting actors/actresses were phenomenal!

Hey Sanem! If you really value your love with Jan, you should have listened to him. He did not deprive you of your ambition to become a writer in fact he did all he could to support you but you Sanem have a very high pride. You have so much belief in yourself. This emotional rollercoaster has taken a toll on my emotions. I can't keep watching much longer. The storyline is literally being dragged at this point. I'm so disappointed. Ayen and Osman left the town, Leyla gets married suddenly after breaking up with Osman! When two villains leave then three more take their place! I've stayed up around the clock trying to get to the point when Can gets married to her and now this!!!!! I'm so drained. I don't know how much more I can take.

I’m watching this for the 3rd time. Loved Sanem at the start, but once Yigit came into the picture, I was amazed how blinded she was by him, when previously she was very shrewd in summing up the characters with hidden agendas. For some reason, she is completely blinded by Yigit, probably because he told her he would get her book published. Rather than trusting in Jan’s shrewd instincts along with JJ’s instincts which she had agreed with in the past, she blindly ignored ALL the signals in regards to Yigit, from him ‘sniffing’ her to the words he wrote in the book he gave her. And she wonders why Jan became so frustrated and angry. He was very patient with her but to no avail. I couldn’t believe how she took Yigit to the mountain cabin, even though Jan had told her in the past that was his special sanctuary and he had only ever wanted her there, no one else. Complete lack of respect for him and his wishes. She actually becomes a different person when Yigit comes into the picture and although she loves Jan for all eternity, when she asks Jan to ‘show’ her how he loves her rather than just saying it, she in fact is not showing him how she loves him by respecting his wishes, trusting in his judgement/opinions on Yigit, and listening to his concerns about Yigit motives and agenda. Jan leaving is almost inevitable, especially once his mother starts interfering, manipulating and promoting Yigit, just because she can not stand anyone to be happy unless she is pulling the strings. Her face at Emre and Leyla’s wedding says it all. Amazing that a year later when Jan returns, there is Yigit, still trying to worm his way into getting Sanem for life. He may have read her book by then, but was clearing delusional in still thinking that he could eventually capture her heart. Thank goodness she sees the light before the end.

Sanem is a queen of messy! However, in my view if the script writers really wanted a break from the series they should have worked out a more convincing scene than Sanem taking Yighit to Can's cabin ( When Sanem knew very well that Can can not stand Yighit, and Can does not like people at his cabin other than Sanem). Then Yighit convinces her to stay in the car and Yighit goes out to talk to Can. Sanem should know not to take Yighit to Can's spot period!

And Can didn't flirt with Polen....but Sanem was so conciously getting close to Yigit despite the untoward signs she has been seeing and the warnings from Can. 🧡What makes this series so interesting is doing a character study of the main characters: Deren is a past lover of Can. Huma hates Can and works to destroy him from the moment she appears. Why? Because she was taken from her by her husband who found her unfit???? We do not have enough information. So we either just accept the characters as they are presented or "fill in the blanks." Can knows to keep his distance. Not a secret. If these were my characters I would match Can with the character Bambi who is his "type." Outdoor girl - kind. Knows him from a long time ago-so likable! In the year apart, why is Huma still hanging around? Does she want Sanem married to Yight to block any possible reconciliation with her son? Sanem is a wounded bird not an "early bird." When is Can going to tire of rescuing her ? In this series he seems to be on one long "Rescue Mission." I liked your comment so I had to reply. I really enjoy reading the comments.

She's the first female lead that I like and hate because of how her character is. I am glad Can left her and she suffers because she needs to realize and regret the choice she made in believing someone else over the person she claimed to be so in love with, the one who has bend over backwards and changed his life just to be with her. She does not deserve Can's overwhelming love but I think this has to happen so Can will also know how to control his emotions towards Sanem.

SO - now he has to rescue her yet again! would love to see a panel discussion by the script writers. How did they dream up this character? I wanted him to go on the photo shoot in the Balkans! This is who he is - a photographer! He has a studio in New York. He is highly regarded in his field. He could have taken Sanem with him. I do not for a second believe he sulked for a year and did not work. He may say that but he is too much energy and ability to put it on hold....
