Dayhiking the OHT - Cherry Bend to Hare Mountain

Come along for my hike of the beautiful first leg of Section 3 of the Ozark Highlands Trail. It's a section packed with pretty views, big and small, especially while the leaves are off.
Starting from Cherry Bend, I hike 6 miles to the campsite on Hare Mountain and show you a remnant of a homestead that's left near the summit along with the well campers can draw water from. This hike was a bit snowy so it was just a little extra special in my book. See for yourself!

I was thinking about doing this hike this weekend… I think this just cemented that! I did the OHT from Indian Creek to Lick Branch through the Marinoni Scenic Area a couple of weekends ago, just 10 or so miles further down the trail. That whole area is definitely a gem for hiking. Also, thank you for all of the time and work you put into your videos!! I definitely enjoy all of them ♥️

Almost all our maintenance is done by volunteers! Even the sawyers go thru certification with both national park service and forest service! Great bunch of volunteers 🎉
