I bought an amazon renewed m1 macbook pro last november. Still works great. Got the same off brand 140w charging brick with mine lol. Probably makes no sense for the repair shops to buy a brand new official apple charger brick for an extra $100. Something is better than nothing but mine did crap out after a few months of use. Crazy you got a 1 year return window tho, I got 3 months lmaoo.

yeah this laptop is in good condition for a "premium" machine. you get a machine that works as expected, without any problems unless you nitpick. 1k+ USD is steep for a 3 year old machine however. if this is not "premium", you're basically demanding a new one at that point.

My M1 Max still kicks ass. 400GB/s memory bandwidth. Linux VMs run flawlessly. 16 inch so the fans almost never even come on and the SSD is5000-6000 MB.s Still perfect for me

1. It's a charger, not a data transfer device. 2. you seem to be a windows user? Macs OS is designed from the ground up to be secure from spyware, and virus, most users have never seen such a thing for the last 20- 25 years

Mac virus are sure one fiftieth of Windows ones because macOS is a much more closed and controlled environment, but Macs still can and have often been infected by spyware and virus (the last one was literally only a few years ago…and was pretty widespread). What really makes the o.s. secure is us and our online habits.

@@DayoAworunse I recently got my first MacBook Pro. And while the display is awesome as a whole, I am really irritated by the darkening of the backlight at the edges of the screen. "The internet" apparently calls this the "vignetting-effect" and I really don't mind it too much. I just wanted to make sure nothing is wrong with my particular unit since it's so expensive and all. Comparisons I made with pictures and videos I gathered convinced me pretty much that it's totally normal what is happening on my unit. But since you have the experience I wonder: Is it really present on every MacBook with the Mini-Led-Technology or is it kind of a lottery and possible to get one which doesn't have that at all? I read of some folks which even changed their unit four times and every one had it, but I'm just curious what you in particular have to say about that since I like your content so much. :-)
