With arameans accepting and embracing Assyrian culture and vice versa. We became one people. And that is for most fo the Syriac population including Maronites and Mandeans. We can all keep calling ourselves "Assyrian, Aramaic, Mandaic" and what so ever but in the end we're one group. The Syriac. (Syrian stems from the word Assyrian)
