Congratulations on the projector, that’s so cool. When we go to the beach I take a project for every day, do I get any done, most likely not but I have what I need when the inspiration hits me! Stockings sound lovely as well as the new quilt!

Congratulations! Now you can spend the winter learning all new things. I've come to really not like Christmas shopping. I love giving gifts but I have the hardest time picking out something that I hope the person will like and use. I finally got the last gift done today. I've also crochet 10 Wild Oleander Hooded Scarfs for the women in my family. I just need to tuck in ends and put fringe on. I hope they like them!

Congrats on the Ditto projector! I have one and I love it. The custom measurement feature is key for me. So far any project I've made using the Ditto patterns has fit me very well. And I love the fact that you can BYOP now.

My friend does those DIY miniatures. You might need Andrew’s help, some of the book making is tiny and takes a lot of patience. It ends up being so cute in the end.

Would it be worth $700+ US$ for personal usage compared to buying a paper pattern? Does it do away with buying paper patterns

Personally, for ME… I don’t think *any* projector used for sewing is worth $700. You can get a quality projector for sewing purposes for $200-300-even less if you buy it used! As for digital vs paper, that depends on your own process-if you draft on the computer or on paper, if you make corrections by hand before cutting or during the fitting, if you sew mostly pdf patterns or tissue patterns, etc. lots of factors! For me, it could not replace paper patterns completely, but it will definitely be useful when I start my digital pattern making class and also because I sew a lot of pdf patterns that I can now project onto the fabric rather than cutting out on paper. However, I also use a lot of big 4 patterns so I’ll still use the paper for those!

I find it ironic that you can’t wait to get to a JoAnn Fabrics. This is all I have around me. Meanwhile, and I am dying to get to a proper fabric shop like that can be found in the city.

9x out of 10, I totally agree with you!! But quilt fabrics is the tricky part. The garment district is mostly apparel fabrics, so JoAnn has the fabrics I need for any quilting projects. (Im not a huge fan of fabric packs- I prefer making my own combos!)

Yes! Also called "Nopales". So tasty, and pretty easy to cook too. Just take a knife and cut off all the spikes, and then we like to chop into large pieces and saute in a pan with salt, lime, and sometimes tequila! The texture can be hit or miss for some people, but we love it!
