I liked the skirt you wore during the video. Do you have video about it?

I was gifted this same model sewing machine and I am trying to figure out how to use it. I see the thread that comes from the top is red and there is a bobbin at the bottom that is green. I don't understand how this works apparently. Why are there 2 sources of thread on there? The red thread will be pushed through the fabric of course but what does the green thread do? Keep in mind the only sewing machine I have ever used was a simple handheld one and that definitely didn't have 2 spools of thread.

New follower here. I’m in my 70s and my favorite dress when I was ten was a yellow gingham dress, with patch squares of smaller yellow gingham checks randomly even all over. Loved that dress!!

@@laurenalise3488 so glad you found it useful! Learning to draft skirts opened sooooo many doors for me- for example, I see a bodice I like, and then just add a half circle skirt to it to make a dress allllll the time! 🫶💕

Have you read any Banana Yoshimoto? I have been gradually working through her books. Very similar vibe to Haruki Murakami. Super dreamy and floaty, very well written.

YES! I LOVE Banana Yoshimoto. But I'm pretty sure there are still a few books of hers that I have not read yet, so I need to check that out and cross compare to see what I could read from her!

Really liked the video ❤️ and I'm glad that you are okay! One of my favourite KZbinr channels is "Girl in the Woods", she does outdoor content and it's so soothing to watch. She is such an amazing person and shares so much knowledge and wisdom ☺️

First of all, I am so glad you are OK health-wise! Yay! And second, I am finding Instagram more ick lately, too. I go there for who I follow and try to avoid the rest. I think Meta is really trying to encourage people to post more and post certain things that I personally don't like. I get those messages from them, too, and they bug me. I mainly like interacting with my friends and family over there. And I love KZbin, too! I much prefer KZbin as a place to hang out. So, I say do what you want! You are the boss of your channels!!

Great video as usual. I don’t know how I ever came across your videos but am glad I did. They are fun and informative, and it’s interesting seeing what life is like in NYC. As for IG. I can’t get the hang of it and really don’t go on it much. I don’t think it is user friendly. Anyway, I look forward to your next video and always enjoy your cats!

Follow your instincts about IG. I've recently picked up a new trick for when I'm stalling on a decision. I ask myself, "is it at least safe to try?" Quitting (or at least deleting the app from your phone) is safe to try, isn't it?

Invaluable info on our health! Instagram has become too controlling. Then they introduce other platforms, like Threads. I don't see the point of more. Personal preference. I love You Tube, and especially your channel!

Hey Jaclyn, I 100% understand you with IG I haven't deleted my profile but I've stepped back and I don't miss it at all. I'm the same I love youtube and getting listen to discussions and it feels like a more right place to be. I've felt lately like IG was an energy vacuum, I ended up just removing the app from my phone and if I want to check it I'll use my PC because I'll only go on it to check briefly for my favourite peeps. I've actually felt mentally better from doing this but also I feel way more present in life and my crafts which it feels so refreshing to be back to that. It also helps because I have more reading time, oh and I don't feel dizzy trying to keep up to everything and everyone. I totally get it and I think you should go with your gut feeling if it isn't bringing you joy like it used to then move it on haha. At least my time and valuable energy isn't being thrown away. PS I LOVE LOVE LOVE your plaid dress in the background of your videos in your craft room, I'm thinking I might need a plaid linen outfit of some sort I'm think a trouser and cropped top combo like Simplicity K9114 in a coral or yellow plaid for a summery feel 🤗 I loved the episode and can't wait to see the progression of your quilt and I am much relieved you received good news from your check up!! Lumps are a scary thing which I think is why a lot of people want to avoid getting them checked and it's understandable but definitely better in the long run to go and get it seen before it could escalate. Well done for going though it must have been very unsettling for you and well done for speaking and pushing others to go get checked it's vital. Big Hugs Nessa 💕 x

I agree with you completely about Instagram. I stay on just to keep up with family and some real life friends. Lately I have been unfollowing a fair amount of people and spending less and less time there. Admittedly, I have never spent a lot of time there. I love KZbin, Patreon and Pinterest for social media. As for KZbin recommendations, you already mentioned Voolenvine. I started watching AKA Norah knits. I love Little Drops of Wonderful from the UK and her vlog channel, This Little Wonderful Life. Lastly, Preppy Kitchen is a new favorite for me and I really enjoy him. I would love to hear more about the gardening KZbinrs you like. We are expanding our garden beds around our home including a wooded area that is part of our backyard. We also took up raised bed vegetable gardening and that is going quite well. Any recommendations are welcome! Most importantly, I’m so glad you finally got everything checked out health wise. Putting it off is human nature. I’m happy for you that everything is okay and I know how scary the “not knowing” can be.

I’ve always preferred KZbin and missed you when you veered to Instagram. I knit and sew and like to have company or learn something while I’m crafting alone. Instagram is a time waster with no redeeming features. I rely on KZbin almost exclusively for entertainment and education. I think your content is best suited to KZbin where your efforts can be appreciated. We can all guess how much effort it takes and appreciate it. You should NEVER worry about deadlines for this. Remember that most of us are sitting watching you while you are living an interesting life. 😂

Been watching your videos since Brooklyn Knitfolk days and I rarely comment but I enjoy your videos. I feel similar with Instagram. As soon as it started to just copy over content from tiktok I have enjoyed the app significantly less. I’m not on TikTok, and in general, I don’t want to watch TikTok thru instagram. My main reason being that it seems everyone is just trying to go viral by doing something ridiculous or copying viral trends like the tide pod thing. I really value thoughtful creative content. Yes, I’ve had a laugh here and there at a Reel, but in general.. I don’t want the time suck that TikTok and now IG are. PS I’m glad your tests and everything came out ok.

I’m so glad you are okay from your scare and I agree that instagram is a weird place. It’s probably because bots run it. I keep it because I like to see what certain friends are doing. I find it’s less annoying if I just look at the content I enjoy and I don’t scroll.
