Watching you make 4 socks in 4 days is the most I've ever wanted a sock machine. Wow!

"As a love letter to me!" "It's a reminder that DJ has a crush on me" It's so heart warming to hear people talk about how much they love their partners and you and your husband are just so cute 🥰

Tuning in for the first time and I'm convinced I need to find more ways to get power tools involved in my knitting. Both the socks turned out so lovely!
@rachelisknittingАй бұрын
Thank you! And YES power tools and knitting go really well together lol! I feel unstoppable with my drill 😂

Ok but the taco bell socks with the pink contrast are SOOOOO CUTE!!! I was willing you to pick the taco bell yarn with the pink and was so happy when you did. I also love the white ones with the blue contrast just on the cuff, I never thought to do that but it looks super cute, I might have to try. This sock cranking series is so interesting, thanks for making it x

Everyone I know is re-reading 4th wing and iron flame. 😂 Also, if you get another mini without nylon, you could do striped legs. I did a pair for my mom with stripes of 5 rows MC, 5 rows CC, etc. She loved them.

That’s a great idea!

Is it weird I’m drooling over your purple yarn wall? 😅 That’s my favorite color! Also, thanks for leaving the name of your slipover in the description, I am totally going to make one!! I was on Team Leslie with an irrational thought that slipovers would look terrible on me without ever trying one lol. But I think I just need to learn how to style them.
@rachelisknittingАй бұрын
Not weird at all! It is the best color! And yay I’m glad you’re going to make a slipover! This one is really great and so easy to make.

I'm enjoying watching your Vlogmas! and yes that ACOTAR colorway is stunning. By the way, can you share the drying rack model you are using that I see in the back ground?
@rachelisknittingАй бұрын
Thanks for watching! The drying rack is probably from Wal-Mart or Target - it’s not in my Amazon order history unfortunately.

Can you please share the link for sock machine
@craig6578Ай бұрын
It’s a Dean and Bean machine. Normally you can’t link outside urls on KZbin without it getting blocked.

Yes! It’s from Dean and Bean 💜 www.deanandbean.com/

Loving all of these socks! I think my favorite so far was the one with the bright pink accents that you made in this video. Also, how long does it take to crank one sock and/or a pair of socks?
@rachelisknittingАй бұрын
They are my favorite too! And if everything goes correctly, then it takes about 45 minutes to crank one pair.
@runknitkalieАй бұрын
I finally tried my sock machine for a swatch yesterday after watching your vlogmas. Are the contrast colors hard to add? Probably should get the basics down with one first but your socks are turning out so cute with the surprise minis.
@rachelisknittingАй бұрын
The contrast colors are easy once you have the basic skills of the machine under your belt!

Have you tried Graphic Audio’s version of Fourth Wing? Great dramatization, better than Audible version.
@rachelisknittingАй бұрын
No but now I NEED to
@carolynwatling4626Ай бұрын
Huge fan of the dramatized versions, the dragon sounds are just so immersive and fun!
@HannahVillapandoАй бұрын
I’m so mesmerized by the sock machine 👀 Are you able to do DK socks on them too, or just fingering weight?
@rachelisknittingАй бұрын
It’s pretty hypnotizing isn’t it! I have not been able to successfully use DK weight yarn, although it works just fine when I need to hold fingering double here and there (like when I’m weaving in my ends on the machine).
@HannahVillapandoАй бұрын
@ thanks! I’m loving seeing all the fun combos you are creating with your scrappy advent! Thanks for all the inspo!

If using a sock machine can you still do rib cuff ? How is the fit with the band cuff ? Also your socks look great !
@rachelisknittingАй бұрын
You can do a ribbed cuff with the ribber attachment, but I do a hung hem.
@MichelleLewis-nc8zvАй бұрын
Do you do the Kitchener stitch to close your toes?
@rachelisknittingАй бұрын
Yep!
@noelleparris9451Ай бұрын
@@rachelisknittingit looks like mattress stitch tho 🤔 I love the 2nd pair with the pink CC!

At what point do you decide to unwind your cones? I'm juggling having enough cones and still having decent amounts of yarn leftover ( I can usually get a tall and short pair with extras from 1 skein)
@rachelisknittingАй бұрын
I don’t really have a set system for that, I just go by what I need or what feels right in the moment! Most of the time when I have leftover yarn on the cones, it’s because I was lazy and didn’t make the second pair of socks that I know I can get out of the skein.
@littletawelan443Ай бұрын
Great videos as always thank you. Question could you go through your calculations please my sock feet are never the correct size, it’s so frustrating 🤦♀️ xx
@rachelisknittingАй бұрын
Yes I can! Thanks for the suggestion!

I like that your 2024 goal was to make 24 FOs and you’re overachieving that in December alone 😂 I’m loving this so far though! Even the boyfriend said “ca-ute!” to them 😂

Omg I didn’t even think about that 🤯🤯🤯

Rachel, what are you wearing? I love the color and the pattern? .
@rachelisknittingАй бұрын
Thank you! It’s the Easy Ribbed Slipover and is a free pattern from Lion Brand
@juliao9146Ай бұрын
I know you talked about it in an Instagram Live with Leslie, but what yarn did you use for the Easy Ribbed Slipover? It's so stinking cute, I have to make one!
@rachelisknittingАй бұрын
I think I said Wool Ease on the IG live, but I’m actually pretty sure it was the recommended yarn in the pattern! Heartland Yarn in the colorway Emerald and Forest Green Blend.
@YvonnescraftyadventuresАй бұрын
I love the idea of a sock machine but I don’t know if I would use it enough to justify it. Can you use it to make other things too?
@rachelisknittingАй бұрын
Yes, there are tons of things you can make! I haven't been very adventurous yet, though. There are loads of patterns on the Dean and Bean's website as well as on csmlove.com
@rachelisknittingАй бұрын
Oops, I meant csmsupplies.com for lots of free patterns!

Rachel do you know of anyone who will finish a knit project and fix some spots?
@rachelisknittingАй бұрын

@carolb8073Ай бұрын
Is the sock machine expensive ?
@rachelisknittingАй бұрын
This one is around $500 for the basic machine. That’s a lot of money to me, but compared to the cast iron machines this is much more affordable.
@NobodyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyАй бұрын
