Days 7 - 10 | Everest Base Camp Trek | Dingboche to Base Camp to Tashinga | Episode 3 of 4

3rd of 4 videos from our EBC trek - filmed Oct. 2021. We were hit with a major snowstorm and altitude sickness! However, my oxygen levels remained in the high 80's and 90's, so I kept going and rescue helicopters could not fly in the storm. Hiking back down was just as amazing as the way up was, if not more. Love this trek!!!
We used Adventures Within Reach for this trek. We have used them for most of our worldwide adventures and they are excellent! We highly recommend them!

Yes, it's incredible what they carry. One load we saw was 85 kilos. I don't know how they do it. And what's sad is they get paid very little for carrying those heavy loads.

Thank you! You will absolutely love your trek! We were there in late October. And yes, we did take protein bars and other snacks with us to eat between meals. We also took electrolytes to add to our water. You can also buy snacks along the way if needed. Hope you have a safe and amazing journey!

As water got frozen in high altitudes, how did you flush the toilet?

The toilets do not flush. After you go, you pour water into the bowl from the barrel and everything goes down. It prevents freezing problems.
