The Bible was part of a side mission for the colonel...so after he dies at the end maybe you can't collect it anymore because it doesn't make sense to pickup an item for a dead character

for me i collected it after the rippers set lost lake on fire and they tossed skizzo in that cabin as his jail cell, thats when deacon burned it, so i guess that is the turning point
