everyone starts grad school at different times in their lives. I have cohort members straight out of undergrad and some with multiple masters degrees and kids! so age is not something you should worry about

I thought PHD students don’t take courses (I thought you create your own research & create a dissertation for it) 😅 idk how it works lol

I believe there are some programs with that option! but my particular program (and others too) require a number of hours of coursework for one’s major/minor. we also have elective hours and research hours we have to complete. after finishing coursework most students only do research hours until they finish their dissertation!
