I’ve been training in CT also! Since I’m an afternoon/midnight tech they wanted us to learn how to do contrast studies..I’m not yet registered but I do most exams that come through the ER by myself... kind of taking it at my own pace but the goal is to eventually get registered! Good luck with CT/MRI!!

Congrats on the new job!! It sounds like you're being super smart about this. One of the bad things you can do in a career is staying too long in a job that doesn't challenge you enough early on in your career, when you still want to grow and do other things. That's how I personally like learning- starting at a smaller company where you can learn the basics and then moving onto somewhere where you will have more potential (it's not a bad thing to say lol) or at least more opportunities to learn. Nothing is wrong with that at all!

I have 7y of CT scan exp. Working as a nurse tech on radiology. Took me about 6month of full time scanning to actually nail it. Doing fast paced scan: 35scans of thorax/abdomen/cardiac in 4h of continous work. Doing 60 ct scans a (8h)day is common in my hospital. Now just started at MRI. Look at www.mrimaster.com to learn more about MRI in general, which scans you need to preform and learn about sag/cor/ax. My ct exp helps me a bit, but its on a totally different lvl. It way more difficult than CT. Now looking back, CT scan is just fucking easy compared to MRI scanning. It's still fast paced. Working in shifts: MRI scanning from 7am untill 12pm (true story). and also in the weekends. Radiology is for most hospital pure money making.

Currently training in CT as well! I love it definitely not as strenuous on your body and it's a lot more computer work buy blue light glasses if your eyes aren't used to it, especially if you have to do your own 3D's

YES hahah! I had a good amount of PTO, so I'm using this week as a little vacation for appointments (dentist, eye.. no fun!). Also I've been doing a lot of extra content creating and re-organizing my socials :) My next job will have 8-5 FT hours!
