I cried my eyes out watching this episode when it aired. I've still got the news paper article about his death

I've never watched Days of Our Lives. It took that old woman a minute-and-a-half to say he's dead, but soap operas are famous for dragging everything out.

The character's death was a big deal for the original DOOL viewers, just like losing Bo Brady and others later on was for next 'generation' (imo)

It was her husband its reasonable for her to be in shock like that and it was a really big deal

The actor said some horrible things about AIDS victims in real-life, so I didn’t care when Tom died.

I've never heard about that what did he say?
@tjames96982 жыл бұрын
@@alwaysOPEN4business He said “Better to be dead than red.” He was referring to the red AIDS ribbons. Even Frances Reid said she was shocked by that. That’s why Deidre Hall refused to wear the red ribbons because she said she wouldn’t be a hypocrite at the gathering like many other actors that were wearing them and feigning concern for the victims. Hall had many dear friends that passed from the disease and said many wear the red ribbons for show.

@@tjames9698 I did a search and find no evidence of these comments, where did this come from?

@@brockreynolds870 I believe it was at the 1993 Daytime Emmys. It was when Deidre Hall refused to wear the red ribbons. That’s when he (allegedly) said “Better dead than red”. It’s said even Frances Reid was shocked. The reason why DH didn’t wear the ribbons was because she said she wouldn’t participate in hypocrisy regarding others wearing them but not having true sympathy for those that died.

@@brockreynolds870 He died in 1994, so it would have had to have been the Emmys in 1993. It’s said Deidre Hall refused to speak to him for a long time after he said the comments.
