This is by far the best tutorial for these towel toppers. All of mine were coming out wonky... and the finishing part of your design really makes it nice. Also, your directions on the beginning embroidery chain is great. Learning the beginning chain was the hardest part for me making these and you just made it so much easier for me to do. Thank you so much. I have many of these to make to sell at a vendor event I'm doing next month.
@DaysCrochetАй бұрын
@@marilynjones7461 thank you! I definitely recommend making some to sell at your market. The plain ones I make (non-Holiday themed) sell out every year for me. I buy the neutral colored towels at Dollar General and do an ivory tweed yarn topper and a coconut shell button (buy in bulk on Amazon). I have found the themed towels get passed over for neutral ones, probably because they can be used year round and make great gifts. I hope you sell lots!

Nice emboirdery pattern. btw, Is it a must to fold the towel in one thirds lengthwise? i am planning on workingon a plain towel
@DaysCrochet2 жыл бұрын
It’s not a big deal on how many times you fold it; it matters more on the width of the top and how many embroidery chain stitches you start with. If you still have close to my stitch count/measurements, you should be able to follow my pattern. I make more plain towels than decorative ones and I still fold mine in thirds. Hope this helps!

I love this tutorial and pattern, I have made 3 already! My problem is that even with measuring and folding the towels so that the ends are even with each other after I make the embroidery stitches, the ends do not line up. One side is always longer than the other. I have adjusted twice and still have the same issue. Any tips/advice to avoid this?

@DaysCrochet2 жыл бұрын
You could try crocheting a chain stitch through the layers instead but it may be more of a challenge. You would probably need a steel hook with a sharper nose to get it through the towel. Or you could use a rotary skip blade to pre-cut the holes for you to crochet through, and then just use a regular hook. You will definitely want to pin your towel in place prior to doing the rotary skip blade though because you will struggle seeing the holes and the holes will probably be difficult to keep lined up. I hope this helps!

Can an invisible decrease be done instead of the 2sc2?
@DaysCrochet Жыл бұрын
Invisible decreases are really only "invisible" if you are either working in the round, or you are only decreasing on the "right side" when working in the row. Since my pattern has you decreasing in multiple rows, the backs of some of your decreases will be showing on the front of your work, making it not-so-invisible. But if you want to, it shouldn't really make a huge difference.
