I loved What It Means to Be Defeated but Origin really wasn't my favorite as it was basically just WIMtBD 2 with negative/darker lyrics. One thing I always loved about Dayseeker was the meaning behind their name as stated by the band in the early days: trying to look for the light amidst this dark world. Origin really got negative and I understand why, but I just preferred the more uplifting lyrics. That's one thing I really loved about DIS///WIR, it brought a lot of that back... plus, they just got so much better with the songwriting this time around, it genuinely shocked me.. I knew they were great but I wasn't expecting THAT much greatness haha

Ah finally, I haven't seen someone really agree with me on that aspect. As for the name, there was a video a while back, right before WIMtBD's release, where the band talked about how they were formed, their purpose, etc. I think it was made in response to how people assumed they were a Christian band based off of Hollow Shell's lyrics, which they're not (though Rory has had an ongoing struggle with belief in God, at least; I can't speak for his current beliefs). They explained that basically, they're just trying to be a positive band, a band trying to seek the light (day) in a darkened world.

With few songs standing as exceptions to the rule, Dayseeker consistently writes some of today's most powerful and meaningful song lyrics. It doesn't hurt them one bit, either, that their music is all at once beauty and beast enough to match the words in tone and earnestness. I expect a lot from their new album and I doubt they will disappoint me after this.

really nice song. the band has a good understanding of how metalcore should sound, but they sure put their own spin on it. clean vocals seems to be pretty "real" and not overtuned or overproduced. i bet the singer sounds live pretty solid

the first time I saw dayseeker was a music video shoot for collision survive at chain reaction In Anaheim. Now I knew they had a lot of talent based off their experience in the scene with their old bands. I just knew after that night that they would evolve into something spectacular.
