Jimmy Evans was my Pastor( Trinity Fellowship) for many years. To say I'm disappointed in his point of view on this is an understatement. What I consistently notice about Joni Lamb Weiss is, she does all the talking. She does very little listening, and gives others very little chance to speak. She dominates every conversation. The only person I haven’t heard her dominate in a conversation is Jimmy Evans. He also spoke over Jonathan and Suzi terribly as well. The other thing that continues to blow my mind is how she consistently treats Jonathan and Suzi like children. They’re in their 30s, they have two children of their own. They are not children! (I’m in my 50’s and saying this.) Does she not realize every time she demeans their wisdom, their choices, their character, their ability to reason like an adult, she’s minimizing her ability to raise a competent young man?

Do you see the parallels here, IHOP Leader Mike Bickle told his victims that God showed him that his wife was going to die and they would be his next wife. Someone told Joni that Doug was the man for her while he was still married to Lisa. All these false prophets and prophesies that do not line up with God's word and yet they are used to justify them going against God's revealed will. Doug is a confessed sex addict and supposedly he was delivered and yet all he can talk about is sex. He so obsessed with it that he chose it as his profession. He deceived people for years claiming to have this wonderful marriage to a wonderful wife and mother when all the while he said she was abusing him ignoring him and instead of working on it he claims abandonment and divorces her after 30 years. He told people that she was loved by everyone because she was so wonderful. I can't believe Joni can't see through that one. From what he says the poor woman was running their business for them while he was going on marriage retreats with his patients, and giving all his time to the ministry. Seems to me he was the one who was abandoning his wife. He is a snake in the grass.

Compromise is the key word here...God's word admonishes the body to expose those elders who are sinning and refuse to repent "publicly!" Joni is off, and we don't know for how long. However it appears to be at least from the time her late husband was having a 7 year adulterous affair with a manager at their organization. They apparently used donor money to set up their meetings and to pay off the also married woman. And Joni and Marcus minimized the 7 year adultery, blaming it on the three other women who filed lawsuits against mistreatment within the organization, with their lawyer mentioning the adultery in his suits. They lied to everyone then and are still doing so.

I didn’t. I was widowed as a young 50 yr. Old. I listened to my children not to date, and it was the best decision for my life. I dedicated my life to serving the Lord and never dated (dating is for marriage.). The Apostle Paul said it is better for the widow NOT to remarry; (unless they burn with passion and can’t control their urges.) I have heard from widows who did remarry; they wished they had not remarried. It was a constant battle of comparison. And that Joni will have: comparing Doug to Marcus; and Doug comparing himself to Marcus & trying the rest of his life to win Joni’s children over. Even tho’ Marcus had his issues, Doug is more narcissistic than Marcus… and obviously, Joni got her way with Marcus. With Doug’s personality, I don’t see that happening in the future. Let’s see how long Doug is going to stick around. He was intrigued with Joni being on a pedestal, but when the empire tumbles, let’s see if he will be willing to go low. Praying all works out for the best; that God humbles them and they repent.

It’s a dangerous place to be in when using Jesus as an alibi for a contradiction in marriage or remarriage. The Lord would NEVER tell someone to marry another person that is exiting a marriage of over 30 years for non-biblical reasons.
