A big mistake people make is to think that people in the church are their friends. Most just use you when they need. Pastors also do the same, they just use you when they need but very few will show up if you need. We know people from church but very, very few we can call friends. There was a story in the news where I live showing that very few Christians during the pandemic got a call from a pastor or a friend from church. A few years ago, I was very involved in a church and volunteering in many areas. I had a problem on my knee and had to wait 6 days for the surgery and then after surgery I couldn't walk for 10 more days. One day I asked my non-Christian roommate if he could buy a hamburger for me on the way back from school. He said he would but then he asked: "Where is your church when you need the most". That day I figured out I didn't have friends in church, just people I knew and had activities together. I know a guy that became a Christian and was involved for 4 years on a church. He always offered his house for meetings, etc... He was transferred overseas and came back first time after 3 years. He said that people changed completely. No one came to visit him and very few talked to him in church. He called me to ask if that was normal in church and based on my own experience, I had to admit that happens with lots of people.

This is not true at my church. My pastors are caring and kind to the flock. And they were there for me when I really needed prayers, help and support. Thank You Lord for sincere pastors. During the pandemic we were divided into groups and added to whatsapp groups. Our pastors were on all the groups and interacted with the congregants. South Africa🙏🇿🇦

@@Wildlife_SA. I am not saying that is always like that but in the US in general (not all), churches became businesses. There are many churches that are not like that but in general churches in US worship the god of marketing and all they want is to sell you something.

I’ve been friends with my friend for 20 years. During that time, she has not been one to open up about her problems or struggles. There is no transparency. But, I have been transparent with her. Asking her to pray for me and with me. Revealing my struggles and sins and receiving her help and encouragement. When I asked her ( 10 years ago) why she doesn’t have me as her accountability partner or why she doesn’t share any struggles with me, she says she doesn’t struggle much but if she does, she goes to her sister ( who lives out of state). I was hurt because I know I am her best friend and I know she has few friends. I feel like she thinks of herself as very well put together and that she sees me as a “ project”. I want are,auto ship that goes both ways. I want to help her and pray for her just like she does for me. But, we can never get to that point. Now, it’s getting g too hard for me to continue in this unbalanced friendship. It’s almost like there is pride on her part that keeps her thinking that she is the one with the answers but she doesn’t think I have anything of depth to offer her..... other than me being fun for her and giving her a purpose in,Ive which is “counseling “ me. I am Very sad and very frustrated and think like “ if I am a good loving Christian” I will pursue this friendship and not give up on it..... I am still not sure if “ elimination” is needed here....it hurts me to even contemplate it. Please pray for me. I love Jesus and my friend. I want to do the right thing.

No, you don't need prayer. Instead you have to go out there and make friends. This lady doesn't see you as a friend but you seem to think that she is your best friend. You need someone that sees you as an equal instead of a project. Work on your self-esteem and self-confidence. Have a lovely day♥️

I ended my friendship with who I called my best friend for over 30 years because I wanted to keep believing that she would love me the same way I loved her. Instead of having a conversation about how I felt, I ghosted her phone calls. She finally texted me and I decided to go ahead and talk to her. Only to be disappointed again because she still made the conversation about her, not about the issues of our friendship. I still love her but our season is up.
@abeekuworldchanger380 Жыл бұрын
That was similar to a 'friend' I had. It's best to love those people from a distance. Funny enough, she has a boyfriend now so praise God that he's taking up her time now😂. But jokes aside, I decide to keep the friendship on Standby and at a distance. When conversations are draining you, then it's a sign to really get in prayer and ask God for clarity , provision, guidance and wisdom.

A close friend ended our friendship earlier this year when he realized the extent of which I was attracted to him. He is same-sex attracted as well and wrote a book about leaving the lifestyle. It's been so hard on me, but I've been learning A LOT since then, and I genuinely do hope that someday we can be friends again after I've gained some more healing so I won't think and feel in that way again for him or anyone else. I hope it's in God's plan for us to reunite, but this time actually enjoying closeness and intimacy the way God intended and NOT the inordinate affection I experienced.

Sorry to hear. But sometimes, letting go is healing. You'd be surprised how some people will try to come back into your life. One person I used to be friends with for 4+ years decided to remove me from her life. Earlier last year or so, she tried to add me on FB and I prayed, heard from the Lord of what to do, and denied the request. Those moments cause for evaluation in our lives too.

I’m middle-aged now and I have learned by my life experience that some friends I have to let go of when the assignment is finished. Also I wanna teach you something, I’m going to suggest that you may outgrow some friends, it might be mentally spiritually or physically outgrow for instance if they move away. I have not stayed friends with anyone from high school or college because we lost common ground after that particular type of experience. Now as an older woman more mature and more wise I am more selective with my inner circle.

It's hard,but necessary I'd say. I get it though because it's familiar, and feels like we are starting over, but some people's seasons are up in our lives. Whether we release people or people do the releasing, we can be assured that God is always good no matter what. You never know with life. In one case it was interesting. Someone I knew that was very toxic tried to apply for a job and my manager and I were doing the hiring. We did the interview with her and she was completely embarrassed and shocked. Kept it professional if course, but I told my manager who she was as a person and the things she's done, and to be careful, and we didn't hire her. So it's those little devious actions people do to others that can prevent them from destiny. It's as little as how someone trests you that can go against them. Jesus is Lord.

There is such a thing as unrealistic expectations. Just as we should not expect a husband to do/be to us what only Jesus can be; we should not expect those in the church to be this either. Remember what Jesus said the various churches in the book of revelation. Every Christian is not on the same level--we don't become Christ-like overnight. I am now walking in a place of maturity. We are to realize that the rest of the body is being worked on as we are. When you begin to allow the fruit of the Spirit to be worked out in you--you will come into much understanding and maturity
@abeekuworldchanger380 Жыл бұрын
True and I agree, but I think that's how we can also know who to walk with. Everyone is being worked on for sure. I think too, it's also a matter that I've realized that we can love on everyone, but not everyone has to be your friend, and be okay with that. What's important is to observe and ask God to send us people who he wants us to spend time with . The church is a place we gsher, but as I've learned, I don't need to try to fit myself into friendships rather let God guide me to the right people he has for me. It makes life so much easier and saves you time.

The Gospel: Plain and Simple “But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.” - 2 Corithians 11:3 Ask someone today if they are saved and you will most likely hear responses like these: “I have accepted Jesus into my heart.” Or “I have made him Lord of my life.” “I’ve been baptized.” “I said a prayer.” Sounds all good and churchy don’t it; but it is difficult to de-termine whether or not a person actually knows the gospel that saves them. These useless phrases don’t describe a thing about what the gospel is and has left a devastating effect of people not knowing what it is that they are saved from nor how they are saved; which leaves a more serious effect of people questioning their salvation. Let’s not muddy the simplicity of salvation that is in Christ with vague church sounding phrases that do not communicate anything. But rather present God’s word with clarity and assuredness. So here is the gospel: plain and simple. Sin was passed upon all men by one man Adam, and death is a consequence of this sin (Rom 5:12). Mankind has an eternal destiny of condemnation and wrath - Hell - because of this sin (Rom 6:23). No matter what good works one might do we are still found sinners in the sight of our Creator God. And all unrighteousness and those who follow get indignation and wrath. We cannot be found righteous for by God’s law we are found sinners (Rom 3:19-20). If we have broken even one law we are found guilty. It is for this reason of not being able to create our own righteousness and being born in a sinful flesh that we need a savior (Titus 3:5). Christ is that Savior, God manifested in the flesh, sinless, died in our place on a cross 2000 years ago. Taking upon him the wrath and judgement that was intended for us sinners. And it is through his bloodshed, burial, and resurrection on our behalf that we are able to have peace with God and forgiveness of our sins (1 Cor 15:1-4, Col 3:14). This good news is unto all but only those that believe in it are made righteous in Christ (Romans 3:22). It is then after we have heard this good news of Christ’s righteousness available to us freely, that we are sealed with the Holy Spirit and we are now part of Christ’s body the church (Eph 1:13) There is nothing that we need to do, no good works that are required, and no bad works that can separate us from our new position in Christ (Romans 8:35-39). Faith and belief in this information from God’s word is the gospel. The gospel is not accepting Jesus into your heart. The gospel is not making him lord of your life, it is not saying a prayer and it is not being baptized with water. So next time someone asks you if you are saved. Give them the clear assured answer Yes And let me tell you why Find more free resources at: www.graceambassadors.com
