Good vid. I have noticed what you have showed in the video with my HW97 thump hole stock and had to adjust my grip slightly so that the stock doesn't sit tight up against the inside of my thump allowing the rifle to recoil straight back more naturally.

Thanks for these tips MrSpiker, I had never heard of this before and after trying it today even with a springer i am shooting more accurately.

Thank you very much. I do like the practical side of the synthetic thumb hole stock on my HW97 but i think i'd like shooting the sportier model more with the thumb up grip like the rest of my rifles.

Nice clip there Mr Spiker. What I would say is there is another problem a lot worse than the thumb up or thumb down technique that causes lateral impacts on a target, and that is not following the 2nd marksmanship principle. "The weapon must point naturally at the target". If you aim at a target and the rifle is pointing naturally at it, it should only be moving up and down it as you breathe rather than laterally as you breathe. The other 3 marksmanship principles also refine your shot. Si

the pellet in a MCT has left the gun before the recoil , the recoil is from the air leaving the barrel ...but the air comes out after a pellet has left the barrel ..thumb up shooting is about trigger control and involentery movement of the fingers thumb and hand .....however firing a spring gun is another story where by the light grip of a thumb up hold may help

Thank you for this interesting vid,was aware of this technique but you have made me more thoughtfull of its importance. I have an ugly thumbhole custom stock for my Rapid 17(plenty of material to remove) and am now considering machining a thumb shelf directly behind the action, would like to know your thoughts on this ? Thanks for the reply, that sounds great seems like a proven set up and will pair up nicely with your Daystate! So what persuaded you to get an Airwolf vs. any other rifle in the Daystate line?

I have a tx & pro sport in .177. The PS is too hard to cock for extended sessions. I'm really thinking bout the tx200hc in .22. I hear the Air Arms springers are very easy to disassemble, but idk. Supposedly the easiest of the bunch. I've wondered what to do w/ my thumb on this 97kt I bought.I'll give your advice a try. I sometimes get hole-on-hole accuracy from 25yds out and other times not. Plus it has barrel droop bad and I'm awaiting a droop mount for free, but they're all outta stock.

as a fellow lefty (only 2% of the world is left handed) and a former marine i TOTALLY understand having to get used to right handed rifles. little unnerving when a hot brass shell ejects in front of your face lol. I have recently recieved a peep hole sight from a contest. how would i adjust this for a lefty? i look through the sight with my right eye and its fine. through the left and i see the sight body on the right. any suggestions?
