This was a fantastic race! However, there were some flaws, the Next Gen car did run great for it’s first official race but it did have mechanical issues, but that’s fine, it’s the first race and they will work on it. The second stage is when I started to get skeptical because they all formed a freight train and I was worried that it would continue. Luckily, the final laps. of the race were electric and I’m so glad I got to see it! Congrats to Austin for his first win BTW! Overall, this race gets a solid 9/10. Way better than 2021. Can’t wait for Fontana in which I’m going to! Let’s Go!

I feel stage 2 at superspeedways always tend to be the freightrain or low intensity pack racing stage where drivers tend to just log laps. Until after the stage 2 pit stop there is really no reason to drive aggressively. I think stage 3 will always be good under this package as long as drivers understand this isn't the gen 6 package where you could go from 30th to 1st in 10 laps. You would be fortunate to do that in 40 laps with the current package haha. Drivers can't hang in the back during stage 3 and expect to win.

@PaulMcElligott2 жыл бұрын
In the old days, when the cars would get too spread out, NASCAR would throw what became known as “phantom debris cautions,” so called because there was never any debris on the track. NASCAR was just trying to bunch the cars back up. “Stage racing makes the phantom debris caution an official part of the race. They divide each race into three segments (the 600 into four segments), and they throw a caution at the end of the first two stages. The top ten cars at the end of those stages get additional points, but it’s really just a way to create completely artificial excitement, one more way that NASCAR has turned into pro wrestling.

Plenty of crashes in this one because of the new cars. The thing with oval racing is that it's extremely precise *because* it's so simple. It's fun to watch cars edge each other along on the brink of losing grip and somehow making it. But sometimes they don't, and that's fun to watch, too.
