I finally touched Daytona Championship USA on one mall arcade in Semarang (it's Old Season one), but the thing that got me more excited was the face-cam of myself. Never got the podium but I'm proud to myself just having finished the race on three quick races and getting my facecam and initial posted on record.

Great vid mate. I started playing the NSE version of the game yesterday. It's a nice upgrade. Hornet fells a LOT closer to the original now, allowing the 4-1-3-4 technique to work well most of the time. Only critique I have is the graphics are kinda too blurry and the aliasing is bad. Also looks a bit too low-res-ish, almost like it's running in 800x600 or something. Not sure if there's a way to fix that? Also AI tends to get right in front of you a bit aggressively as you approach them, making passing a bit annoying. Otherwise nice upgrade over vanilla DCE :)

Yes, I've noticed that the AI can really get in the way sometimes. It's like they almost get Superglue to your bumper.

I can't get this to play on my Legion Go that's AMD GPU based....the non-NSE version works but steering is so darn twitchy with the sticks. Can't figure out what I'm doing wrong or what's wrong that I cant get the NSE version to fully load. Does the whole HAVE FUN screen..goes black for about 30 seconds then kids back out to TP.

Hello, l have managed to emulate the game with Teknoparrot but l have a small issue. Since l don't have a wheel l decided to play the game with my Xbox 360 controller, however, the sensitivity on the left and right sticks appears to be very high and it plays like the vanilla dreamcast version because of it. Can you think of any solutions about that problem? If not then l can try cope with these controls.

Yeah, the couple of times I tried playing with a pad I found the X-axis sensitivity waaay too high (which makes sense really, as it's an arcade game designed with a wheel in mind). I can't recall any options to change the X-axis sensitivity in the Teknoparrot UI, so you might be stuck with it. Might be worth having a poke around in some of the game's INI config files, to see if there's any options there to alter it.

I find it already quite easier than the Model 2 version. Did you find any defined difference with the non-new season version?

The biggest difference I noticed in the old version of Championship USA was that you get penalised far more strictly if you clip a wall - it brings the car to an almost complete standstill.

Gameplay wise, this is quite a big improvement. Pleased to see. If only they went more to town with the roadside environment for there is no excuse for this not to look and sound lively and immersive as f. Looks like my true Daytona 3 is still Project Cars 3 in VR and with all music replaced. Man, the feeling you get from that game in VR is incredible. It's crazy how the game is such a bore when played on the monitor but once you put it on VR, stick to the city stages and replace all the music... Hot dang, it's practically Daytona 3!

I tried a demo version of Project Cars 2 on the PSVR. The handling didn't feel at all Arcade racer-like to me, is PC3 a bit different then. The quality of the visuals on that demo version of PC2 in the game's replay mode really blew me away though. Makes it seem all the more crazy to me that's last gen hardware now.

@@MrThunderwing 100% you'll get that feeling from Project Cars 3 on your PC, not Project Cars 2. Project Cars 3 is more of the Sim Arcadey style but in VR mode it's so damn GOOD! When I play a checkpoint race I put on Initial D music in the background and go nuts. When I play in a stadium isk race (not circuit tracks), I put on Daytona 2 music. The game really so Daytona that I wished Sega took the entire game, reskins everything and created specific Daytona style tracks from it. That's how good it is., The ONLY thing I don't do in the game though is the 1 player career mode as it doesn't quite do it for me. I only play in Quick Race and scale up the CPU so it can give me a challenge. Once you got the stock or A-class car you want (never super cars otherwise you'll be stepping into another territory) then you're off as you'll be drifting, speeding and going crazy to the finish line. Honestly, it's VR or bust.

@@EAprima just had a look online - no PSVR support on that game on the PS4, it's PC only and I don't have a PC VR headset (zero intention of buying one either).
