Normally you do either a split practice/qualifying session (10 mins practice then straight into 10 mins qualifying) or you do one session that is just qualifying. Also races are normally done based on time rather than laps (i.e 20 mins rather than 26 laps) But yeah that would be great. You also have the issue that you will never get a fleet of karts that are absolutely perfectly equal. You can get them very close but there will always be a minor difference which at these drivers skill they will find. But yeah I would 100% love an F1 karting series. @@hughesy8290 I doubt it. Good sim racers are fast. Personally I am not the best but I am fast enough to have already been on national television for an Esports event, and I never was that far off of the pace of Ben Collins and Nicolas Hamilton. Knowing that I am by far not the fastest sim racer out there I won't dismiss sim racers. Especially not those who can compete on the same level as Team Redline. I know I can put the racing knowledge and muscle memory based on feel to use in a real kart as well, although maybe this is due to me setting up FFB in a realistic manner with good equipment.
@hughesy82905 жыл бұрын
@@LogiForce86 Did you watch the Race Of Champions last year? Enzo Bonito, one of the best sim racers in the world, managed to win one race and that was against a mediocre ex F1 driver. Have you seen Jimmy Broadbent race a go-kart? He was absolutely useless.... Even Lando Norris struggled at the ROC a couple of years ago when he still in the lower series and didn't have all that much experience in real cars.
@LogiForce865 жыл бұрын
@@hughesy8290 I haven't seen any of it myself. I just know that I at least tried to apply racing/driving techniques to driving in real life. Which gave me practice to some extend in real cars, in my case a Lancia Delta, Alfa Romeo 156 and a BMW 3-series E46. Than after that applied all of my experiences in karting, just rental karts though. I started 2 laps late in the heat and lapped the field twice and was of course fastest. On an outside field in mixed conditions on slicks. Like I said, we all want this and that from FFB but most of the sim racers want to compensate for missing information by adding extra info to the FFB that you'd otherwise get through your seat for instance. I on the other hand try to keep my FFB as pure as possible. In fact I have a FFB mod for pC2 that recently became popular as well. So yeah, we all want different things from force feedback but I want to feel what I should feel through the wheel, rather than adding missing info in the FFB and clouding up the underlying real/correct information. If you don't keep that pure it will start to muddle the senses, and when you get in the real thing it'll overwhelm you. Yet if you can drive on just the correct info through the steering wheel from your sim experience, your muscle memory will help you out and the info you get through other senses will in fact make it easier. Sounds a bit complex but all I am saying is that a lot of sim racers end up setting their FFB up to their desires rather than what would realistic. Which will catch them off guard once they get into the real thing and the body will have a hard time translating between the two. In fact you could say that you have to relearn/reset the muscle memory to a degree when you switch between the sim and a real car and vice versa. Another point is that most sim racers are too impatient and coarse with their inputs, and F1 drivers are used to an extremely input sensitive car. So they get used to being smooth because they don't have another choice. You could say that an F1 car can elevate a driver to another level, that is if he is capable of adapting and become smoother.
@LogiForce865 жыл бұрын
@@hughesy8290 okay, I just watched Jimmers karting and he is crazy slow. I also watched his rally experience and so on. I must say that it seems to be he experiences a disconnect between his sim racing and real racing, as in his body doesn't recognize the signals any of the vehicles give him. Which to me indicates to probably a poor FFB setup.

0328 when you think that they will have at least a tiny bit of a hard time catching and passing the 1st of the pubbies and he just breaks 5 meters later than him and carry a shit ton more speed in the corner. Yep that’s why they are f1 driver.

Фантастика! Просмотрел на одном дыхании! Не хуже, чем F-1, только круговые всё время мешали. И , по-моему, были контакты между машинами. Thanks!

That was fun to watch. Remember the old IROC race series? They should do the same, but with carts instead. Drivers from Nascar, Indy Car, F1 on in equally prepared carts.
