Hey guys! If you are having issues finding your Missions folder in your DayZ install directory, simply create one manually called 'Missions' and then paste the Chernarus Expansion folder into it. This should work. If not, let me know and I'll upload my folder to Media Fire! :)

Hmmm. I have had comments from others more recently but nothing like this. I presume it's been patched by the DayZ Expansion devs so try reinstalling the mod to see if that works! If that doesn't work, someone below said to force the game to run in windowed mode (by using the startup parameter) then going fullscreen with ALT + ENTER once you're loaded in fully.

@@mattycross you can use keyboard and mouse but its super hard as it makes larger adjustments when you tap the keys. I couldnt get a ps4 controller to work properly so I got a wired xbox controller off of amazon. They are like $30 and well worth it

I found a Huey and got it running.. with no experience.. I got extremely lucky I didn't die!? I ended up barrel rolling it on the ground getting it stuck upside down. got it unstuck and flew straight up and came back down HOT! hit the ground hearing an explosion sound.. blacked out! woke up slightly hurt, but with the heli still running and flat on the ground. I turned that damn thing off and hopped out! and came looking for these tutorials.. lol that was some scary shit! especially with 300K on me in my backpack too! they're very sensitive indeed. I don't know why it didn't explode with sounding like it did? but it didn't. I'm just afraid to get back in it.

Not sure it works anymore, tried both options, got the abort option but game failed to close and reopen, got stuck on loading screen for over 20 minutes. So closed game. Thanks for your amazing tutorials been a fan for years. Thanks for helping me become a very good Heli Pilot in Arma3 King of the Hill. If there is another way to do this, as we are now in the future, I would love to see it in another tutorial :)

Personally, I think a guy named NightWolf's helicopters are the best for DayZ SA, not his free model, the one he used to charge for (he released before Expansion, let them fight over discrepancies), but his was very good, the flight model, was the closest to A3 I've seen, you didn't have to deal with any of these "hiccups" you mentioned about Expansions, they flew great... you know, minus DayZ's network implementation, otherwise, great. Nobody uses them anymore, it's either Expansion, or another free one that's even more "arcadey" than Expansion. I suggested to DayZ devs that they should do something similar to what they did with A3, have someone else build the birds, they help, release. But they really need at least one, you know, the one they promised years ago, the Bird, in the vanilla game, along with either returning vehicle calculation to client like in Arma, or just outright fixing their sheet.

I dont know. but this tutorial seems not to work exactly as you say on the video. I have the exact same mods as you but when I try to start the heli (left klick and hold on the mouse) it wont work. The animation and sound indicates that you turn on the radio instead of starting the heli.

It does a radio turning on animation/sound, but that is completely normal. it's the games way of simulating the heli switching on :)

I have a big issue , my controls even thogh they are set correctly they dont do what they supposed to do when flying a heli. So W does not go forward, a does not go left but tilts backwards and so forth. Any ideas? Thats on my server and i cannot find a fix.

Workaround from another comment I saw: "I got it work when i spawned heli from ”thing/item” -list and built it from scratch, then I spawned a fuel cannister" So unfortunately it looks like you need to build the whole thing...!

You may need to spawn the vehicle parts in and assemble it from scratch, which is a pain I know, but I'm yet to find another workaround

It just works now! You should be able to load up and provided your game profiles are updated, it will work!

Sorry for the slow reply on this mate, and thank you for your continued support over the years! Unfortunately I'm not too sure about this. You could try copying and pasting the keybind IDs from DayZ standalone/Arma 3 and putting those into your DayZ profile CFG?

I personally wouldn't be able to help with that, but one thing you could do is copy the keybinding mappings from the CFG files in Arma 3 and see if they work in the DayZ CFG file. I've done that before with success. I hope this helps man :)

the problem im having is being able to turn mouse controls on in general without the mod since these servers i play on dont have expansion so i cant use it. idk why the regular game doesnt have a mouse control settings already. i cant fly this crap with wasd. its too clunky.

You may have corrupt files but personally I haven't had any issues joining servers as usual. You'll need to reverify the mods to redownload missing files if so, or you could save two separate folders, one for offline and one for multiplayer. Annoying it's not easier! Sorry for the slow reply btw man.

I believe so. The control menu doesn't pick up mouse movements but I believe you can add joystick movements as an input source.

Not that I know of, but you can use what I use for driving and flying in DayZ SA, an Xbox controller, I fly with keyboard and mouse or my hotas and pedals on Arma, but with DayZ SA, I can't seem to fly very precisely with mouse and keyboard, so I tried an Xbox controller (actually a Razer Wolverine) and I've found most helicopter mods that allow button mapping work with it, and it works better than M&K for me.

Hey man, apologies for the slow reply! Do you mean the original little bird? It's not on original Arma 3, you need mods to use it. Try RHS KOTH which does have the Littlebird. Hope this helps!

Getting the error: "Cant compile init script" and it tracks to "ExpansionMissionConstructor", if i try to ignore it and load in anyway it works, but ingame when trying to spawn vehicles using "Y" i see only vanilla cars no helis. help would be appreciated! Thanks for the comment man! They're deffo not perfect, especially on multiplayer, but as I said, it's better than having no helis at all. I honestly wonder why the devs never bothered to put together a basic flight model, port something from Arma 3 (like the MH-9) and let modders do the rest.

@@Mosinger88 Re-watching this video... It was the issues described with the fight model for me, that's the death nail for any helicopter mod; still better than vanilla vehicles. I've since tried the most recent update and I can say that it's a lot better, not 100% but workable.

I would locate the specific area of the expansion it relates to, so static assets and just delete the folder. I had the same error and simply deleted any folders which were not necessary for the purposes of flight practice.
