Nice one mate. Ive not long expanded over to pc from xbox and now installing these mods. Looking forward to playing through it. Great to see a genuine playthrough.

@@BFNowhere That's great. Will keep my eye out for any updates. After thousands of hours on Dayz xbox I got a bit burnt out from the toxic side of it, but since switching platforms and finding these mods it has opened up a whole new side of the game for a solo player.

It's a group of mods that can be installed in a variety of ways. Installing them is not fun!

@@BFNowhere Hey. I've been thinking about buying dayz but I'm worried about other players killing me, that's why I searched dayz singleplayer offline and found your channel. I'm curious if is it boring to play on your own? Is there any options for increasing zombie spawns, loot and the rest just to make it more lively?

@@ralphjanwelth1686 I really enjoyed myself learning the game mechanics and the map as a new player without worrying about other players. After a while though, it does become too easy. You have more stuff than you can possibly use and so lose the compulsion to go out looting. You can just start again of course. But for single player, two things have made the experience much more challenging for me so far: Namalsk Survival and Expansion. Namalsk is tough and has other things going on that you can work towards. Expansion fills the world with new stuff - including AI that was often too strong for me. So - modding is probably the way to go. You can change things with the infected spawns although, personally, I think they are plenty annoying enough already!

@@BFNowhere i appreciate the reply. So mods do work even in singleplayer? Thats good news. What mod are you talking about that changes the zombie spawn?

You can alter the server files, change numbers of infected and their spawn rates etc. Anything that spawns incl. loot can be changed. Going beyond that then have a look at the mods on the Steam Workshop site and see what they have. There are mods for pretty much any aspect of the game.

Hi there. Thanks for the comment. This new series is the first time I've tried modding in a big way. I found it quite hard work at first but I've learnt enough now to be able to fix things when they go wrong - which they do quite a lot!

Haha yeah I already had troubles installing 1 mod so this is like sorcery to me but I do like the mods you have. I might start my own series as well as you do inspire me a lot. Maybe like a roleplay/survival series but yeah I can't wait to watch the next episode of your series

As it was my first experience with Expansion, I left everything default. Now, I think it's a good idea to tweak settings for single player. In later series I changed the reputation required for the highest tier items (whatever they are) from 10,000 to 6,000. I've not messed with the prices yet, but some of the highest value vehicles are really high.

It took a few tries to get them all working properly - I nearly gave up at one point. There is a video on YT about it. Have a look for Scalespeeder Gaming. I plan to make my own 'how to' video about it at some point if I can find a way to break it down into something reasonably simple to follow.

Trying to do the same with the same mods but keep running out of memory i have 32gb any suggestions?

I have the same. It's almost certainly not really a memory issue - you have more than enough. Where are things sticking/hanging? Are you actually getting in to a game session or not that far?I had all sorts of problems getting Expansion to run - I very nearly gave up.

Ai is getting annoying difficult I think.. like when they're 500m away and your trying to find them through the scope and BOOM I'm dead! One tapped my ass. And they Bob and weave like humans to avoid your shots. You must be faster than them.

I got killed every time I got into a fight with those heavily armed trios in this playthrough. I ended up reducing the numbers that spawned just to give me a chance.

Please show and explain how to install Expansion and mods in general to a single player server!

Mods don't all install in the same way and the process, although not that difficult, requires some patience and probably some research when things don't work! It's a hassle and you need to be prepared for that. On balance - it is worth the trouble though. Sometimes the mod creator will include installation instructions for server owners (people who just want to play mods on a remote server run by somebody else only need to download them). If they have provided instructions, these will be on the page for that specific mod in the DayZ Steam Workshop. Unfortunately, I think the assumption often is 'if you can install your own server you don't need instructions for installing mods' (!). All modded servers require their own 'start.bat' file. This starts the server instead of a Steam desktop shortcut - which won't work as it doesn't have all the information about the mods you want. You can create one using any basic text editor you have - just click your (empty) text document 'save as..' and call it 'start.bat' - and that's it. The contents of the file are beyond most of us however (including me). These will need to be copied and pasted from an online source. A search for 'DayZ Server start.bat' should find one. Once you've created this file you will need to customise it with: the name of your server and each mod you are installing listed individually in the 'Launch parameters' line. This is done in exactly the same format as the mod folder name (eg. '@DayZ-Expansion-Bundle') and each mod listed is separated by a semi-colon (;). All mods will also require you to copy the mod file from the 'DayZ Workshop' folder in the game directory (that's where the downloaded mod goes) to the server directory - copy and paste. Additionally, find the 'keys' folder in the individual named mod folder(s) and copy the contents (not the whole folder) into the 'keys' folder in the server directory. For the simpler mods - this will be enough... 'Expansion' and mods like it require more work. In addition to the above steps some copying and pasting of 'xml' files will be required. Any mod that has 'events' which includes things that spawn randomly is likely to need this. As with the start.bat file contents - this is stuff you need to find and download following links (usually to git.hub) provided by the mod creator(s). They have to provide this otherwise their mods won't work. If I can get it together I may make my own video on how to install mods/Expansion aimed at single-player servers. In the meantime I suggest you visit @ScalespeederGaming who has videos for pretty much all server creators needs - including installing 'Expansion'. This is how I did it....

i just passed 3 days trying to figure out hoz to install it on Pripyat map,,,, at the end going for a very clean install on chernarus, everything zork and i just put that mod on the top for spawning bots everywhere : Expanded Bot Spawning for Enhanced Gameplay , its a must have if you dont want to bother with all the ai system, working out of the box

I have my own server and i have play the game from it came out and when you play day after day you learn where all most every car spawn allmost where every road goes and end and in the begining when i run the long way to the airport and did not know the short cut you could take after i felt stuper but then how could i know then..L.O.L.....iin my former server i wanted to see how many cars you could find and i promise it was alot i think it was about 38 cars i had 2 trucks and 3 humvie..in my new server i have about maybe 25 cars some of them is spred over the mapp but i found 3 humvie and 2 trucks one i stil havent got to my camp...The only thing that is hard to find is the M4..I have all the new sniper weapon and collect well many other weapon,,,I persoaly do not like the gas cloud have never done but thats a taste for each and every one...If you are lucky you can find a car that allmost ready to drive some miss only some part some much more...The perfect thing by have alot of cars is that you can drive arround and search for part yes yes i know laazy and cheating..L.O.L...I can say i mitt the old game how it was in the begining and it is sad there was this guy who made a mapp whit the old game but it did not lsat for long...I hope one day someone could do the old map again how it use to be that would be nice..also i do not like how they change the military airport over and over again..the one that was i think to airport back was ok,,Sorry for bad speling and gramma i am not native in English i am from the land of Volvo..:)...By the way i hope they bring back the buss and also that you can drive the tracktor that would be nice..and bikes would be nice...Helicopter well one would be ok i will se in the future..

I downloaded the server software from Steam and run it on the same machine. There are quite a lot of servers with nobody on them but they tend to not get updated and/or restart every few hours.

I'm using the Expansion mods from the Steam Workshop. A hassle to install but worth it.

You don't need other mods. Make sure you install 'Expansion Bundle, that has all the mods you need in one package. You can use other mods if you want to.
