6000 hour DayZ player here. Once you find a compass, traveling southwest will take you towards the military poi’s. Chelating tablets purify water and remove heavy metal poisoning. Keep in mind you can put items in containers like cooking pots in your inventory. Always keep an eye out for duct tape, sewing kits, and repair kits. You will need them! Oh, and that bizon magazine has some ammo for your .380 pistol. Good luck!

Please go back and get the dry bag if you can. Part of this game is maximizing the space you have. You can put stuff in stuff. The cooking pot has 12 spots, can hold 6 cans of pop, or pills or bandages. The Dry bag had 20 slots you can use to store food, or other items you want to keep dry. Can't wait to see more of this series.

Haven't played DayZ in a while, love that it's the new series! Couple tips: 1) Rotate item in inventory is Spacebar 2) Stealth kills are for blades (kitchen knives etc). You will get like a "stealth kill" option iirc if u sneak up on a zombie 3) Scan rooms with TAB or whatever your key is to open the menu, there is always a possibility of loot that is barely visible or might be clipping through textures etc. U have better chances to find it if u "scan" the room with inventory menu open. 4) If u have no gloves - find a way to wash hands after skinning an animal. If u eat with dirty hands you are pretty much gonna get sick. 5) Put food in a pot - put the pot on the stove. More efficient since u can put multiple food items in a pot.

The cooking pot can be used as storage. It will even hold water if needed. You can also cook in it.

There are a lot of PVE servers, usually have great communities too. Worth checking out. Also I've heard you can make fishing hooks out of wood now but haven't tried it. Ejected rounds should go in your inventory as long as you have room. Cheers man, looking forward to you playing a little more DayZ.

If I remember right, you can adjust the loot settings in private local servers. Maybe 2x it while you get the hang og the game, and lower it later to make it more difficult. Like a true zombie survival, loot becomes more scarce the longer you live.

Yea I definitely don’t mind the low loot when playing PVE because it makes survival more interesting but in PVP it can be frustrating.

the vitamins are good for keeping your immune system up and the tetra pills are helpful if you get sick. there are different level of sickness which corrospond to how many tetra tablets you have to take. There are a bunch of different types of sicknesses as well

A good tip for the playthrough, the fireman's outfits, are perfect they have high insolation high carrying capacity and can be repaired with duct tape and sewing kits, military bases and outposts are great for rucksacks which have fantastic carrying capacity as well, also hunting boots can accept a hunting knife. Awe what a cute little... You bastard how dare you kill the cute little fox.

You can make a fish hook from sticks now. Fishing is key to get off the spawn towns. Eat until full and get more for travel. Hit the well drink until full. Fill pot with water and travel on!

I love this game! Thanks for giving it some attention. You can fill a bag I think and then carry it in you inventory so you could have kept the dry bag. Less common used items and such.

Quick tip zombies can hear gun shots so shooting will attract more zombies so make suppressors when you can, also you can edit the world and make the loot spawns better, also vehicle s are similar t real life you need all the necessary things to make it work, also you can use the bandana as a face mask

So from what I remember on Playstation you come up from behind while stealthed then hold... I think L2 and hit R2 with a bladed weapon... can't remember what each of those buttons actually did but minor 'hint' on stealth kills. Also Foot Wraps (made from rags) make your foot steps silent so easier to stealth up.

Glock in DayZ is like an early Christmas present. Sakhal is a beautifully done map, the devs really delivered on this one. P.S. - Space to rotate. Cooking pot that early is a massive find, cooking fish or non-predator meat in it with water will provide with you with additional water. Also doubles as a water "bottle" and also additional storage so you don't actually lose the 12 spots.

If you like harsh winter maps, you might want to try Namalsk - it's pretty unforgiving. Also, I think you can take the cooking pot and use it to store items, as well as filling it with water to drink (while it's full of items). Cinnamon toast crunch is the best cereal.
