An interesting new chapter in DayZ gameplay and content is coming. This week, Bohemia Interactive shared a look at DayZ Frostline. It’s a new snow-themed map that will take players to an Icelandic-themed volcanic island where new challenges of survival await. New wildlife, clothing, a new affliction, and more will be coming to the icy environment, but a free update is also planned for all of DayZ that will bring content like updated fishing.
Bohemia Interactive revealed the details of DayZ Frostline in a special press release alongside a trailer this week. Set to launch sometime in fall 2024 as paid DLC, the centerpiece of Frostline is an 80-square kilometer map featuring constant falling snow that can intensify as you travel through it. Players will have to work hard to stay warm in this frosty environment, otherwise, they risk suffering a new frostbite affliction that can severely detriment survival chances. Making fire, getting inside, or discovering one of the map’s scattered hot springs are key to living a bit longer, as long as you remember that other players are gunning for the same provisions.

I bought DayZ on console back in 2019 and dumped thousands of hours into the game, switched to PC and the MOD community is great. But Bohemia has a supporter in me for life, will be buying this regardless of the mods out on PC to support the devs.

Im very appreciative for this and I’ll be buying it day 1 but I really want to see about double the amount of clothing and bag options. Everyone always looking the same is so boring. More customization is huge for the quality of life. Thank you Bohemia for not giving up or cashing out after all this time. Oh and btw please add a real tutorial for the newbies. I’ve been playing for quite a few years and I can’t even count how many people I’ve seen quit because they can’t figure out the basics. These questions seem catered to the developer. I am a fan of Day Z, and I support Bohemia. The expansion looks great as an official winter map for Day Z. I never bought Livonia, but I will buy this one, as I play on console. A proper PS5/Series XS release is what I think the game really needs at this point. The biggest complaint I hear from friends when I try to get them to play is that the textures and animations are really outdated. The Fun Pimps’ 7 Days to Die is updating their character models after 10+ years in development for their 1.0 release.

This game is one of my favorite games of all time. Nothing really compares to it. The one thing I am really hoping for in terms of a future update would be upgraded assets. I would be more than happy to pay more than the original game for that. A lot of things are good already, but the houses and zombies for example look terrible.

Let me ask the DayZ Team a few things. Why have the infected become so much worse over the last year? For example how does an infected which cannot open a door know exactly what door in the house is open at any given time? Why has infected density in town made sneaking virtually impossible in towns and cities and created a thirty to one infected to player ratio, even over just a punching match. Why is my toon getting sick so much even when food, drink and other conditions are white:? Also there is a huge hacking probelm coming from these main countries, Russia, China, Canada, (Twitchers hired by the CCP PLA 61398/Russia FSB/GRU), Brazil and other various entities in a conmmunist attack on yours and other systems, not to mention the twitch tard coalition in the USA. What is battle eye and bohemia doing about it because the hacking continues with esp cheats, aimbots, etc. The hacking has gone on for years and years, I got aimbotted in Nadbor recently and its so obvious they are doing it even though they try to hide it. They shoot the bullet in the air and it just kills you in one shot or they teleport to you and inviz god mode etc. These countries should have have their own servers or just be banned from connecting the VPN companies should refuse contracts from those countries and customers. Why do the infected now run like dumb monkees it doesnt make them better only makes me laugh. The food drink consumption is insane on livonia servers is it hackers or the company? someone is stealling admin access and spawning wolves and bears where they shouldnt' Bohemia should hire FBI and NSA consultants to fix the problem. Its serious. Why is loot so bad everywhere now i think because of hackers but also maybe bad company poicy in DayZ. So will Frostline have more of the same problem? Do something about it, for the love of God. Ive been harassed for a year and someone is getting sued over it.

This game still needs tons more improvements. The combat with the zombies suck. You glitch in and out of walls on a regular basis. The menu system could still use more work. Even the official servers and what you find out in the world needs a serious overhaul. I love the idea of this game. But for the folks calling this game the best thing they ever played, then you’re seriously the most sheltered individual I’ve ever seen. I’ve played games for over 40 years starting with the original Nintendo and Atari. And I must say revisiting those games felt like more fun than Dayz. The developers need to put in more time into making this game feel like an actual zombie apocalypse. I’m not trying to be an asshole by any means. But I can’t stand the fact that it’s taken this long to get newer content. I don’t even desire a new map or new weapons and clothing. I want this game to feel less glitchy and not so robotic in general. There are times when this game has exciting moments and then there are times this game feels like a slog and you wasted precious time exploring a map only to find nothing substantial or the combat feels clunky when fighting zombies. I feel they have had a lot of time to fix these issues and I don’t understand why they never fixed them. You still should be able to play with a friend and start on a server without having to find them, that would be a great option to have. Just as an option. This game has potential and they aren’t hitting the mark with me. Not by a long shot. I could care less about a new map to play on. Fix the main issues and then put your time into new maps.

Is it really an expansion when the map is the distance between my home and the gas station? Lackluster tiny maps like Everon reforged and Arland Reforged is why i dont support this company anymore. Slow, broken updates that don't get fixed until it's time to add another update. I consider it more like a donation. Like, support them with a $30 dono and get the map for free kinda thing. That way you're not setting crazy high expectations on them or on the DLC to deliver $30 worth of value, and you can simply feel good about getting to play on something new while supporting the devs. $30 is cheap considering how many hours most people have in the game and it's replayability. Compare that to FIFA or F1 type games where they charge $100+ every year for the same game just rebranded, and with very little replayability.

@@rockyjetproject1345 is correct. Not only does it get colder as you move inland, but snow increases and there are chances of blizzards weather which can kill you fast. Food found outdoors will likely be frozen, meaning you can't eat apples or canned food just found on the floor without thawing it. There is also frostbite as a sickness when you get cold enough.

Combination is going to make for great gameplay and wise, tactical decisions before you make any type of engagement. Wrong choice can lead to immediate or guaranteed death. You should try out server named IntenZ. They have European and US servers. That’s hardcore at its max.

Report Button, anti cheating software, stable servers. Latency fixes, duping.For a game this big it's a shame what ppl have to Deal with and the switch to Nitrado servers made it even worse. Our Server EU DE 1269 dies everytime with 20+ ppl playing. Constant server Crashes, Kicks, rubberbanding. In a fucking shooter where a second can decide about life and death. While also they hide in their forum... you can't even search for topics in a way you would expect it in the 21. century. And the steam discussion forum is irrelevant. Money good, facing criticism bad. Game basics good. Style good. But the execution is just damn poor. 💀 The 234st gun and 10th map won't change a thing if the game is just bitching around.

It's not one thing or the other... They don't take all the devs from the anti-cheat team to help build a new map. They have separate teams working in tandem. Play on better servers with lower latency. Try community servers. It' really not that difficult.
